Key Responsibilities
1. Chance Identification & Sourcing
- Scout Portfolio: Source new product opportunities (generics, specialty, biosimilars, or medical devices) aligning with regional therapeutic gaps.
- Network Building: Maintain relationships with global Companies, contract development and manufacturing organisations (CDMOs), and tech-transfer partners.
- Market Mapping: Track regional competitor pipelines and expiry dates to identify early-entry generic or value-added opportunities.
2. Commercial & Technical Evaluation
- Business Cases: Build financial models, sales forecasts, and net present value (NPV) analysis for target molecules.
- Due Diligence: Coordinate with medical, regulatory, and legal teams to assess technical feasibility and registration risks.
- Commercial Viability: Evaluate pricing structures, reimbursement landscapes, and affordability factors unique to SEA and African climates.
3. Deal Execution & Negotiation
- Term Sheets: Draft, review, and negotiate term sheets, including upfront fees, milestone payments, and royalty structures.
- Contract Management: Collaborate with legal counsel to finalise definitive licensing and supply agreements.
- Deal Closing:
Drive cross-functional alignment to close deals within specified corporate timelines.
4. Alliance Management
- Partner Onboarding: Act as the primary point of contact for partners during the post-deal transition phase.
- Milestone Tracking: Monitor alliance health and ensure both parties meet contractual tech-transfer and regulatory milestones.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelors degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or Biotechnology. An MBA in Business is preferred.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Business Development, In-Licensing, or Strategic Portfolio Management.
- Regional Exposure: Proven track record of handling commercial assets or regulatory context specifically in SEA (e.g., Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia) and/or African markets (e.g., West Africa, Kenya, Nigeria).
Key Skills & Competencies
- Financial Acumen: Strong proficiency in P&L; evaluation, forecasting, and commercial deal structuring.
- Regulatory Awareness: Basic understanding of ASEAN harmonized guidelines and diverse African regulatory pathways.
- Soft Skills: Excellent negotiation, cross-cultural communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
