Job Summary

The Planning Head will be responsible for end-to-end production planning, material planning, scheduling, supplier coordination, and dispatch planning for the Control Panel Manufacturing Unit supporting Wind Turbine Generator production. The role requires managing complex BOMs consisting of approximately 2,000 components, coordinating with over 100 suppliers, ensuring material availability, optimizing production schedules, and maintaining delivery commitments to customers and group companies.

The incumbent will lead planning activities through SAP S/4 HANA, ensuring seamless coordination between Procurement, Production, Stores, Quality, Engineering, and Logistics functions to achieve On-Time Delivery (OTD), inventory optimization, and manufacturing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling

- Develop and execute monthly, weekly, and daily production plans for control panel manufacturing.
- Create detailed production schedules based on customer demand, delivery commitments, and manufacturing capacity.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and resources.
- Monitor production progress and take corrective actions to prevent schedule deviations.
- Drive adherence to production timelines and delivery milestones.

Material Planning

- Plan and monitor material requirements for control panels comprising approximately 2,000 individual parts and components.
- Ensure timely availability of electrical, electronic, sheet metal, wiring, busbar, hardware, and bought-out items.
- Coordinate closely with Procurement and Stores teams to prevent material shortages.
- Monitor critical shortages and establish recovery plans.
- Control inventory levels while ensuring uninterrupted production.

SAP S/4 HANA Planning

- Utilize SAP S/4 HANA for production planning, MRP execution, inventory monitoring, and order tracking.
- Review MRP outputs and initiate procurement actions for critical materials.
- Maintain BOM accuracy, planning parameters, lead times,



and master data.
- Generate planning dashboards, reports, and MIS for management review.

Supplier Coordination & Material Tracking

- Coordinate with approximately 100 suppliers for material commitments and delivery schedules.
- Track Elapsed Time of Arrival (ETA) and Elapsed Time of Departure (ETD) for inbound and outbound material movements.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and proactively resolve supply delays.
- Follow up with vendors to ensure adherence to committed schedules.

Loading & Dispatch Planning

- Coordinate loading schedules in line with delivery plans and material availability.
- Sequence production and dispatch activities to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure readiness of materials, documentation, and transportation arrangements.
- Coordinate dispatch planning and shipment execution with logistics teams.

Coordination with Group Companies

- Act as the central planning interface between manufacturing units and group companies.
- Communicate production status, material availability, and dispatch schedules.
- Coordinate inter-company material movements and delivery commitments.
- Ensure timely response to planning changes and customer requirements from group entities.

Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization

- Monitor inventory turnover and stock coverage.
- Minimize excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
- Improve material availability while reducing working capital.
- Identify supply chain bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.

Cross Functional Coordination

- Collaborate with Procurement, Production, Quality, Engineering, Stores,



and Logistics teams.
- Support new product introductions and engineering changes.
- Ensure alignment between supply plans, production plans, and customer delivery schedules.

Performance Monitoring

- Track and improve KPIs such as:
- On-Time Delivery (OTD)

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- MBA / PG Diploma in Operations or Supply Chain Management preferred.

Experience

- 10-15+ years of experience in Production Planning, Material Planning, Supply Chain, or Operations Planning.
- Experience in Control Panel Manufacturing, Electrical Equipment Manufacturing, Wind Turbine Generators, Power Equipment, Switchgear, or Industrial Automation Industry preferred.
- Proven experience managing planning activities involving complex BOM structures of 2,000+ components.
- Experience coordinating with large supplier bases (100+ suppliers).
- Solid hands-on experience in SAP S/4 HANA planning modules.
