Job Description: Senior Accountant Garment Industry (Bhiwandi)

Position: Senior Accountant

Industry: Garments / Apparel Manufacturing & Trading

Location: Bhiwandi, Maharashtra

Experience: 8–10 years (Mandatory – preferably in garment/textile industry)

Qualification: B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance / CA Inter (preferred)

Role Summary

The Senior Accountant will manage complete accounting operations for a garment manufacturing/trading setup in Bhiwandi. The role requires robust knowledge of garment costing, inventory management, taxation (GST/TDS), MIS reporting, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Operations

Maintain day-to-day accounting, ledger scrutiny, and trial balance finalization.

Prepare monthly/annual financial statements including P&L;, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow.

Manage accounts receivable & payable, vendor reconciliation, and debtor follow-ups.

Review and authorize payment entries, purchase bills, and production-related cost entries.

2. Garment Industry–Specific Responsibilities

Handle garment costing: fabric consumption, trims, accessories, labour, overheads.

Coordinate with production, merchandising, and stores for consumption and WIP reports.

Monitor inventory of fabric, yarn, accessories, and finished goods in ERP/Tally.

Manage job-work accounting, outsourcing payments, cutting/finishing unit entries, etc.





Analyze cost variances and update management on pricing/margins.

3. Statutory Compliance & Taxation

Responsible for monthly GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) and reconciliation.

Manage TDS deduction, payments, and quarterly returns.

Coordinate with internal/external auditors for statutory & tax audits.

Maintain documentation for export incentives (if export operations exist).

4. Payroll & Statutory Payments

Oversee salary processing, attendance reconciliation, and wage sheet verification.

Ensure timely PF, ESIC, and Professional Tax payments & filings.

5. MIS, Reporting & Controls

Generate MIS reports: production cost, sales, profitability, ageing analysis, cash flow.

Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control measures.

Ensure internal controls for cash, inventory, and purchase processes.

6. Banking & Finance

Handle bank reconciliation, cash flow planning, and vendor payment scheduling.

Coordinate with banks for LC, packing credit, overdraft limits (if required).

Skills & Competencies Required

Strong experience in garment/textile manufacturing accounts.

Excellent knowledge of Tally Prime/ERP systems.

Advanced knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, MIS).

Strong understanding of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.

Accuracy, analytical skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced garment hub like Bhiwandi.

Strong coordination skills with production, store, merchandising, and management team
