Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Draughtsman with strong practical knowledge of 2D and 3D mechanical drafting and design.

The candidate should have excellent hands-on experience in AutoCAD 2D and experience with one or more 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, Autodesk Inventor or Solid Edge.

The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate engineering, manufacturing, fabrication, assembly and component drawings and coordinating with Engineering, Production and Quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. 2D & 3D Drafting

- Prepare detailed 2D mechanical drawings using AutoCAD.
- Create accurate 3D models, components and assemblies.
- Convert 3D models into detailed 2D manufacturing drawings.
- Prepare fabrication, assembly, component and production drawings.
- Modify existing drawings as per engineering and production requirements.
- Prepare drawings based on sketches, samples, measurements and technical specifications.

2. Engineering & Manufacturing Drawings

- Prepare drawings with accurate dimensions, tolerances, material specifications and technical notes.
- Prepare sectional views, assembly drawings and exploded views.
- Prepare production-ready drawings for manufacturing and fabrication.
- Prepare and update Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Ensure drawings are technically accurate and easy to understand.

3. CAD Software

AutoCAD 2D: Strong hands-on experience is mandatory.

Experience in one or more of the following 3D CAD software will be preferred:

- SolidWorks
- CATIA
- Creo
- Autodesk Inventor
- Solid Edge
- Other equivalent 2D/3D CAD software

Candidates with experience in multiple CAD software will receive preference.

4. Drawing Checking & Revision Control

- Check dimensions, tolerances,



materials and other technical details.
- Maintain proper drawing numbering and revision control.
- Update drawings based on approved engineering changes.
- Maintain drawing records and technical documentation.
- Ensure only the latest approved drawings are issued for production.

5. Coordination

- Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchase and Factory teams.
- Understand manufacturing and fabrication requirements.
- Resolve drawing-related technical issues with concerned departments.
- Visit factory/site whenever required for measurements, drawing verification and production support.

Technical Skills

- Excellent knowledge of Mechanical Engineering Drawing.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.
- Practical experience in 3D modelling and assembly design.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
- Understanding of:

- Dimensions and tolerances
- Fits
- Sectional views
- Assembly drawings
- Fabrication drawings
- BOM
- Basic GD&T;
- Material specifications

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Ability to prepare drawings from sketches and physical measurements.
- Knowledge of engineering standards and drafting practices.

Software Skills

Essential:

- AutoCAD 2D
- MS Excel
- MS Word
- MS PowerPoint

Preferred:

- SolidWorks
- CATIA
- Creo
- Autodesk Inventor
- Solid Edge
- Other 2D/3D CAD software

Experience with technical documentation and PDF editing software will be an added advantage.

Qualification

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- ITI / Certificate in Mechanical Draughtsmanship may also be considered based on relevant experience and technical skills.
- Candidates with strong practical CAD knowledge will be preferred.





Experience

- 35 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Drafting / Mechanical Design / CAD Design.
- Experience in both 2D and 3D drafting/design is required.
- Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, industrial equipment or mechanical products will be preferred.
- Candidates should have practical experience in preparing manufacturing and production drawings.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have:

- Strong hands-on experience in AutoCAD 2D.
- Good practical knowledge of 3D modelling and assembly design.
- Experience with multiple CAD/design software.
- Good understanding of mechanical components and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to prepare accurate production-ready drawings.
- Knowledge of dimensions, tolerances and basic GD&T.;
- Good technical documentation skills.
- Strong attention to technical details.
- Valuable communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet drawing deadlines.

Selection Preference

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

1. 3–5 years of relevant mechanical drafting experience.
2. Robust hands-on AutoCAD 2D skills.
3. Practical experience in 3D CAD modelling and assembly design.
4. Experience with 2 or more CAD software.
5. Experience in manufacturing/fabrication drawings.
6. Knowledge of BOM, tolerances and basic GD&T.;
7. Experience in mechanical manufacturing or engineering industries.
8. Good MS Office skills.

Work Location

Mumbai

The candidate should be willing to coordinate with factory/production teams and visit the factory/site whenever required for measurements, drawing verification, production support and technical discussions.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a technically strong and experienced Mechanical Draughtsman who can independently handle 2D drafting, 3D modelling, manufacturing drawings, revisions and technical documentation.

Candidates with strong AutoCAD + 3D CAD experience and practical manufacturing drawing experience are encouraged to apply.
