Business Development Manager

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced, results-driven Business Development Manager to acquire new institutional catering contracts from universities, colleges, schools, hostels, and residential campuses across Maharashtra. You'll own the complete sales cycle — from market mapping and lead generation through tendering, negotiation, and contract closure — and build strong relationships with university leadership, trustees, procurement teams, and campus administrators.

What You'll Do
- Identify and build a database of universities, colleges, schools, and hostels needing catering services (canteens, mess, cafeterias, event catering, and more)
- Generate new business through direct outreach, referrals, industry networks, consultants, tenders, and RFPs
- Build relationships with key decision-makers — Vice Chancellors, Registrars, Principals, Trustees, Procurement Heads, and Facility Managers




- Track and respond to institutional tenders/RFPs, including eligibility, technical specifications, pricing, and bid preparation
- Proactively identify opportunities before they reach tender stage — expiring contracts, vendor dissatisfaction, and current campus developments
- Prepare commercially viable proposals in coordination with operations and finance teams
- Evaluate and recommend the right commercial model (management contract, per-meal, minimum guarantee, subsidized, or hybrid)
- Grow existing accounts by cross-selling additional services (hostel mess, events, vending, pantry, and more)
- Maintain a structured sales pipeline and submit weekly reports on leads, meetings, proposals, and forecasted revenue
- Monitor competitors, market pricing, and new institutional opportunities across the territory.
