At Cafe 55, we pride ourselves on serving fresh, high-quality baked goods and exceptional coffee to our community. We are looking for a dedicated and energetic Bakery Assistant to join our kitchen team and help us deliver the delicious pastries, breads, and treats our customers love.

Role Overview As a Bakery Assistant, you will work closely with our lead bakers to support daily kitchen operations. This is a hands-on role where you will help prepare ingredients, manage baking schedules, and ensure our kitchen maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety. Key Responsibilities Preparation: Accurately scale, weigh, and measure ingredients according to Cafe 55’s standard recipes.

Production Support: Assist in mixing doughs, preparing batters, shaping pastries, and monitoring items while they bake.

Quality Control: Ensure all baked goods meet our visual and taste standards before they reach the display case.





Inventory Management: Monitor ingredient stock levels, receive deliveries, and properly rotate perishable items using the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method.

Sanitation: Maintain a spotless workspace by washing dishes, sanitizing equipment, and sweeping/mopping the kitchen area throughout the shift. Equipment Operation: Safely operate commercial baking equipment, including mixers, ovens, and slicers.

Early Riser: Must be available to work early morning shifts starting at e.g., 5:00 AM, as well as weekends and holidays. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift heavy items (up to 22 kg) such as bags of flour or sugar.
