About the role
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer 1 (Backend) to build and scale the APIs and services that power Transak's global on/off ramp platform. You will work primarily with Node.js, MongoDB, and Redis in a microservices environment, shipping production features that are used by millions of users across our partner applications.




This role is ideal for an engineer with 2–5 years of experience who writes clean, well-tested code, cares about correctness and performance, and wants to grow into owning services end-to-end. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers, product, and other pods, learning how we design for scale, reliability, and security in a regulated fintech setting.
Key Responsibilities
API & Service Development
Build, test, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services in Node.js.
Model data effectively in MongoDB and use Redis for caching, queues, and rate limiting.
Contribute to microservices with clean, readable, and well-documented code.
Quality & Reliability
Write unit and integration tests; participate in code reviews.
Debug, profile, and fix issues in staging and production.
Follow secure coding practices in a compliance-sensitive domain.
