Tool Room Operator

Job Summary

Responsible for operating and maintaining conventional and/or CNC machines in the tool room to manufacture, modify, repair, and maintain dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, tools, and precision components according to engineering drawings and required specifications.

Key Responsibilities
Operate machines such as lathe, milling, drilling, grinding, and other tool-room equipment.
Manufacture and modify tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and machine components as per drawings.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
Perform machining, drilling, tapping, grinding, turning, and fitting operations.
Set up machines and select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds.
Measure components using vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision instruments.
Inspect finished components to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality.
Carry out repair, maintenance, and modification of existing tools and fixtures.
Maintain tool-room machines, tools, gauges, and equipment in valuable working condition.
Identify machining defects and take corrective action.
Maintain records of tool manufacturing, repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities.
Follow production schedules, quality standards,



and safety procedures.
Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S standards in the tool room.
Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams for tooling requirements.

Required Qualifications
ITI in Tool & Die Maker, Fitter, Machinist, or related trade.
Diploma in Mechanical/Tool & Die Engineering is an added advantage.
Relevant experience in a tool room or manufacturing environment preferred.
Knowledge of conventional machining and precision measurement techniques.

Basic knowledge of CNC machines is an advantage

Working Conditions
Manufacturing/tool-room setting.
May require shift work and overtime depending on production requirements.
Regular use of machining equipment, cutting tools, measuring instruments, and metal components.

Pay: ₹23,000.00 per month
