Work Location: Chennai

Experience Required: 5+ years

Responsibilities:
Develop concept and detail design of the Sheet metal components/Weldments.
Focus on design optimization of Sheetmetal and structural weldments.
Clarifying design requirements with all relevant stakeholders
Align concept and detailed design with interfacing modules and submodules.
Obtaining, modifying, and optimizing CAD geometries to match the requirements.
Deliver 3D, 2D and design BoM with right quality.
Iterating all the above until we converge on an optimal design.
Drive design and design changes through our Change Management system

Qualifications:
Master’s / Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering / Structural Engineering / Aerospace/ similar fields
Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in design & development of energetic mechanical systems, CAD (CREO) & PDM (PDM Link Windchill)
Engineering Change Management (ECM)




Knowledge in EN and ISO standards related to mechanical component design Systems.

Competencies:
Expert in Product design methodologies (Understanding of FMEA requirements, cost + quality awareness)
Expert in Sheetmetal component design and detailing
Strong hands-on CAD skills in Sheet metal, Welding, Material selection & tolerance stack up.
Valuable understanding of Design for Manufacturing/ Assembly/ Service concepts
Good in GD&T;, Welding, ISO standards of Materials, Grades & Tolerances
Efficiently communicate with the Tech Lead, Project Managers & all other stake holders
Like to work with complex engineering problems and have a creative approach to current challenges.
Be process oriented and have a structured way of working.
