A hotel manager oversees the daily operations, financial performance, and staff of a lodging facility. They manage front-of-house and back-of-house teams, enforce health and safety standards, and ensure excellent guest experiences to drive profitability and solid brand reputation.
Daily Hotel Manager Responsibilities
The responsibilities of a hotel manager typically span across five core areas:
Guest Services & Reputation Management
Ensure a 100% commitment to providing memorable, high-quality guest experiences.
Serve as the primary contact for escalating or resolving severe customer complaints.
Monitor and respond to online reviews (e.g., Google, TripAdvisor) and ensure the Service Recovery Program is effective.
Review daily arrival reports, paying close attention to VIP guests and special requests.
Staff Leadership & Human Resources
Recruit, train, and supervise all department heads and hotel staff.
Create staff rotas, delegate tasks, and monitor departmental performance.
Foster a positive work workplace and provide constructive feedback and career development.
Conduct performance reviews and enforce attendance and disciplinary guidelines.
Financial & Revenue Management
Develop and manage annual budgets.
Oversee the profit and loss (P&L;) of the hotel, optimizing revenue streams and controlling operational costs.
Establish room rates, analyze sales figures, and prepare regular statistical and financial reports.
Approve day-to-day purchases and monitor inventory.
Operations & Facilities Management
Coordinate cross-departmental operations, ensuring seamless communication between front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance.
Plan and schedule building maintenance, renovations, and specialist contractor work.
Inspect the property daily to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and readiness are met.
Manage vendor relationships and inventory.
Sales, Marketing, & Compliance
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop campaigns that increase occupancy rates.
Coordinate with external parties, including travel agencies, corporate bookers, and event planners.
Ensure total compliance with local licensing laws, health regulations, and fire and safety codes.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
