Job Summary

ICU Staff Nurse is responsible for providing critical nursing care to seriously ill or unstable patients in the Intensive Care Unit. The nurse monitors patient condition, administers medications, assists doctors during emergency procedures, and ensures continuous patient safety and comfort.

Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care
Monitor vital signs such as BP, pulse, oxygen saturation, ECG, and temperature
Assess critically ill patients regularly and report condition changes immediately
Provide bedside nursing care for ventilated and emergency patients
Maintain accurate intake and output charts

Medication & Treatment
Administer IV medications, injections, fluids, and blood products safely
Handle emergency drugs and crash cart preparation
Follow doctor’s treatment orders accurately
Assist in procedures like intubation, central line insertion, ABG collection, and suctioning

Infection Control
Maintain strict aseptic and infection-control protocols
Use PPE properly
Follow biomedical waste disposal guidelines

Documentation
Record nursing notes, medication charts, and patient observations
Maintain ICU flow sheets and treatment records
Update electronic medical records if applicable

Emergency Response
Attend code blue/emergency situations




Perform CPR and basic/advanced life support when required
Assist doctors during emergencies and critical procedures

Communication
Coordinate with doctors, technicians, and other healthcare staff
Educate patient attendants regarding patient condition and ICU protocols
Handover patient details properly during shift changes

Required Qualifications
B.Sc Nursing / GNM Nursing
Valid Nursing Council Registration
ICU experience preferred (Freshers may be considered in some hospitals)

Required Skills
Critical thinking and quick decision-making
Knowledge of ICU protocols and emergency care
Communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work under pressure
Basic computer documentation skills

Shift Timing
Rotational shifts:
Morning
Evening
Night
Weekends and emergency duty may be required

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: ₹23,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
