Position Summary (a brief description of role accountability)
The Lead - Logistics is responsible for end-to-end after-sales logistics operations, ensuring seamless order processing, timely dispatch of marine spares/services, accurate billing, and disciplined vendor and client coordination.
This role directly impacts customer satisfaction, cash flow, and operational credibility with global shipping clients.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities of the position holder
After-Sales Order Processing
Take full ownership of post-order activities from order confirmation to final delivery.
Coordinate internally and externally to ensure error-free documentation and execution.
Track orders across suppliers, warehouses, forwarders, and ship agents.
Shipment & Dispatch Management
Ensure timely dispatch of shipments from supplier warehouses to ship agents.
Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve delays, shortages, or documentation issues.
Coordinate with freight forwarders for optimal routing, cost, and timelines.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination
Act as the primary point of contact for MNC clients, suppliers, forwarders, and agents worldwide.
Maintain skilled communication via email and telecom with explicit documentation.
Handle escalations calmly and factually- no emotional firefighting.
Invoicing & Payment Follow-up
Ensure accurate and timely generation of invoices.
Follow up with clients to ensure payments are received within agreed timelines.
Coordinate with finance/accounts to reconcile discrepancies promptly.
Vendor Management
Build and maintain strong vendor relationships across geographies.
Negotiate and onboard current suppliers with clearly defined payment terms.
Ensure vendors are paid strictly as per agreed terms to protect
