Key Responsibilities
Boiler Operations
Operate and monitor boilers to meet plant steam requirements.
Maintain steam pressure, temperature and flow within prescribed limits.
Monitor fuel consumption and improve combustion efficiency.
Ensure proper feed water treatment and maintain water quality records.
Coordinate boiler loading and switching during maintenance or peak demand.
Maintenance & Reliability
Plan and execute preventive maintenance for boilers, pumps, burners, steam traps and related equipment.
Attend breakdowns, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Maintain critical spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement.
Drive reliability improvement initiatives to minimize downtime.
Statutory Compliance & Safety




Ensure compliance with the Indian Boilers Act and IBR regulations.
Coordinate boiler inspections and certification renewals.
Maintain statutory records, logbooks, and inspection documents.
Enforce safety practices such as LOTO, Permit to Work (PTW) and confined space procedures.
Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks and near-miss reporting activities.
Energy Management
Monitor steam consumption and identify prospects for energy savings.
Implement projects related to condensate recovery, insulation, VFDs and heat recovery.
Support energy management initiatives and reporting requirements.
Prepare monthly energy performance reports.
