PURPOSE

The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for the

technical design and specification of all electrical

services within a project. Responsible for developing

and delivering electrical designs to facilitate the secure

and compliant installations on site.

GOALS / KPIs
Technical Compliance: 100% adherence to BS 7671

(18th Edition) and project-specific technical

specifications.
Design Accuracy: Elimination of "clash" issues and

capacity errors through rigorous calculation and 3D

coordination.
Programme Adherence: Delivery of electrical

design packages (drawings, schedules, and specs) in

line with RIBA stage deadlines.
Sustainability: Achieving targeted energy

performance through smart lighting controls and

efficient power distribution strategies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Designing in conjunction with fire certs, disability

access certs & planning permission report.
Attending design team meetings.




Carrying out site surveys of existing installations.
Producing stage reports & presentations.
Detailing electrical schematics for build.
Sourcing and procurement of electrical

components for designs.
Creating test plans and documentation packs for

developed electrical designs.
Liaising with customers & suppliers.
Meeting project delivery deadlines.
Production of detailed design briefs, basis of

designs and survey reports.
Carry out all work in a professional manner.

SKLLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent.
3 years' experience in the Electrical Engineering

field.
Deep knowledge of CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS and EN Irish

and UK standards.
Knowledge of Amtech required.
Ability to work in a rapidly changing workplace.
Solid communication skills.
