Business Development Associate - M&A; Marketplace

Candidates from Gurugram or someone willing to relocate to Gurugram will be highly preferred.

About the Role:

We are hiring a Business Development Associate to support the growth of an M&A; and private capital marketplace focused on SMEs and mid-market companies across Southeast Asia. The role involves seller acquisition, buyer activation, chance qualification, onboarding and pipeline management. The selected candidate will work closely with senior leadership and the transaction team while engaging founders, investors and strategic buyers.

Key Responsibilities:
Identify and prospect businesses across target markets.
Conduct seller and buyer outreach through calls, email, LinkedIn and referrals.
Qualify opportunities and prioritise high-potential prospects.
Pre-match sellers with suitable buyers before introductions.
Schedule meetings and manage structured follow-ups.
Support seller onboarding and business listings.
Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline updates.
Improve outreach quality,



conversion rates and business development processes.
Work closely with the transaction team to support successful deals.
Share market insights and mentor junior team members, where applicable.

Preferred Background:
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
Investment Banking
Corporate Finance
M&A; or Transaction Advisory
Private Equity or Venture Capital Deal Sourcing
Financial Consulting
Business Development within Financial Services

Requirements:
2–5 years of relevant professional experience.
Robust communication and relationship-management skills.
Comfortable with outbound calls, email and LinkedIn outreach.
Experience engaging founders, investors or senior stakeholders.
Basic understanding of financial statements, valuations and M&A; processes.
Solid commercial judgement, ownership and execution ability.
