Job Summary:

The Transport Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring all transportation activities to ensure the protected, timely, and cost-effective movement of goods. The role includes fleet management, driver supervision, compliance with transport regulations, vehicle maintenance, cost control, and coordination with internal departments and transport vendors.

Key Responsibilities:Fleet Management
Manage the daily operations of company-owned and hired vehicles.
Ensure maximum vehicle utilization and route optimization.
Monitor vehicle availability and operational efficiency.

Transportation Planning
Plan and schedule vehicle movements as per dispatch requirements.
Coordinate with production, warehouse, purchase, and sales departments.
Ensure on-time delivery of goods to customers and branches.

Driver Management




Supervise drivers and transport staff.
Prepare driver duty rosters and trip schedules.
Monitor driver attendance, performance, and discipline.
Conduct safety awareness and defensive driving training.

Vehicle Maintenance
Schedule preventive maintenance and periodic servicing.
Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and minimize breakdowns.
Maintain records of repairs, insurance, permits, fitness certificates, and pollution certificates.

Cost Control
Monitor fuel consumption and mileage.
Control transportation expenses and improve cost efficiency.
Verify transport bills, fuel bills, toll expenses, and repair invoices.

Compliance
Ensure compliance with Motor Vehicle Act and other statutory requirements.
Maintain all transport-related licenses, permits, and documentation.
Ensure adherence to road safety standards and company policies.

Vendor Management
Coordinate with transport contractors and fleet vendors.
