Role & responsibilities
Prepare the ENT Operation Theatre before each surgical procedure.
Ensure availability and functionality of ENT surgical instruments, endoscopes, microscopes, drills, and other specialized equipment.
Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and OT team during ENT surgeries.
Maintain strict aseptic and infection prevention protocols.
Perform pre-operative verification, patient identification, and surgical safety checklist compliance.
Position patients safely for ENT procedures and ensure proper padding and support.
Handle surgical instruments, sterile supplies, and implants as per hospital protocols.
Monitor patient condition during surgery and assist in emergency situations.
Perform accurate sponge, instrument,



and needle counts before, during, and after surgery.
Document intraoperative nursing care and maintain OT records.
Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and storage of ENT instruments after procedures.
Coordinate with CSSD for sterilization and instrument availability.
Report equipment malfunction or any patient safety incidents promptly.
Maintain inventory of consumables and ensure adequate stock levels.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental audits.
