Intellectt is seeking an experienced
Mechanical Design Engineer
with expertise in industrial enclosure design. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, developing, and validating mechanical enclosure systems using
SolidWorks
, ensuring compliance with
NEMA 4X
and
IP63
environmental protection standards. You will be responsible for taking designs from concept through production while collaborating with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Enclosure Design
Design mechanical enclosures, housings, panels, and sheet metal assemblies using
SolidWorks 3D CAD
.
Develop detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and GD&T; documentation.
Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews with fabrication and supply chain teams.
Maintain engineering documentation using
SolidWorks PDM/PLM
with proper revision control.

NEMA & IP Compliance
Design enclosures compliant with
NEMA 4X
requirements for corrosion resistance, dust protection, and water ingress.
Develop products meeting
IEC 60529 IP63




protection standards.
Select suitable materials, gaskets, coatings, seals, and hardware for environmental protection.
Support environmental qualification testing including:
IP Ingress Testing
Salt Spray Testing (ASTM B117)
Thermal Cycling
Vibration Testing

Engineering Analysis & Validation
Perform
SolidWorks Simulation (FEA)
for structural, thermal, and stress analysis.
Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis.
Coordinate with third-party certification laboratories for NEMA/IEC testing.
Analyze test results and implement design improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with Electrical Engineering teams for:
PCB layout integration
Thermal management
Cable routing
Support Manufacturing, Quality, and Field Engineering during production and installation.
Participate in customer technical reviews and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
