Senior SAS Administrator – Job Description
8+ years of experience in SAS Administration with strong expertise in SAS Viya and SAS 9.4 platform administration, installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and production support.
Hands-on experience in SAS on-premises to cloud migration projects, including migration planning, architecture design, deployment, validation, and post-migration support on cloud platforms such as AWS.
Extensive experience administering SAS Viya components, including CAS, SAS Workplace Manager, Identity Management, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and performance tuning of distributed environments.
Robust knowledge of SAS security administration, including LDAP/Active Directory integration, authentication, authorization, role-based access control, and compliance requirements.
Experience managing and supporting high-availability, disaster recovery, backup, and platform resiliency solutions for enterprise SAS settings.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex platform, performance, connectivity,



and infrastructure issues across Linux, cloud, database, and SAS application layers.
Experience working with Banking and Financial Services domains, supporting regulatory reporting, risk management, data analytics, compliance, and enterprise data platforms.
Robust understanding of database integrations with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Teradata, or Snowflake, and experience optimizing SAS-to-database workloads.
Hands-on experience with automation and scripting using Shell, Python, or PowerShell to streamline administration, monitoring, deployment, and operational activities.
Excellent stakeholder management, documentation, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, and business teams while mentoring junior administrators.
