About the Role
We are looking for an experienced developer to join our Asset Management platform team. The role spans a Ruby on Rails application, a standalone React PWA companion app, and a legacy ASP.NET WebForms. Backed by SQL Anywhere, which we are migrating to MS SQL Server. You will own features end-to-end across up-to-date and legacy stacks in a long-lived enterprise product used across the social housing sector.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver features across the Rails backend and its jQuery/Backbone frontend
Write and optimise SQL for SQL Anywhere and MS SQL Server; queries, stored procedures, indexing, schema migrations
Maintain and extend the React PWA companion ap. State management, offline sync, service workers
Maintain and extend the ASP.NET WebForms application, including SSRS reports and ADO.NET data access
Support enterprise SSO integrations (Azure AD, Okta, SAML/WS-Federation)
Maintain SOAP/XML service integrations in the Rails application
Write and maintain automated tests across the stack — RSpec/Capybara (Rails), Jest and Cypress (React PWA)
Required Skills
2+ years of experience on Ruby on Rails — feature delivery, ActiveRecord, server-side rendering with legacy JS frontend
jQuery / CoffeeScript / Backbone.js — comfortable working in and extending a legacy frontend codebase
SQL Anywhere and/or MS SQL Server — confident query writing, stored procedures, schema migrations
React PWA with Redux and Redux-Saga
Git, RSpec, Jest, Cypress

JRuby / WAR-based deployment
ASP.NET WebForms — maintaining and extending legacy .NET applications
PWA fundamentals — service workers, offline-first patterns
SSRS / ReportViewer

Education
