Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher (HRT)

Position Overview

We are looking for a passionate, responsible, and enthusiastic Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher who can create a nurturing, engaging, and stimulating learning setting for young learners.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver age-appropriate, engaging learning experiences for Grade 1 students.
Follow and effectively implement the school’s curriculum and learning framework.
Create a positive, inclusive, and child-friendly classroom environment.
Monitor and document students’ academic, social, emotional, and overall development.
Use creative, inquiry-based, and hands-on teaching strategies.
Maintain effective classroom management and discipline.
Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding student progress.
Collaborate with co-teachers, coordinators, and specialist teachers.
Maintain lesson plans, student records, portfolios, and other academic documentation.
Participate actively in school events, assemblies, exhibitions, and career development programmes.
Ensure the safety, well-being,



and emotional needs of all students are given priority.

Candidate Requirements
Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in Grade 1 or primary years.
Experience with Cambridge and/or IB curriculum is preferred.
Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
Pleasant, warm, and approachable personality.
Passion for working with young children.
Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
Ability to plan and execute engaging, differentiated learning experiences.
Valuable understanding of child development and age-appropriate pedagogy.
Creative, patient, adaptable, and solution-oriented approach.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Professional attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
Good parent communication and relationship-building skills.
Comfortable using basic digital tools and technology for teaching and documentation
