Preparation of route alignment drawings using survey data
Development of tower spotting and optimization
Preparation of longitudinal profiles and sag templates
Electrical & Mechanical Design
Conductor selection and configuration
Calculation of:
Sag & tension
Clearances (ground, electrical, statutory)
Insulation coordination and string configuration
Tower & Structural Engineering Coordination
Selection of tower types (suspension, tension, terminal)
Coordination with structural team for tower design & loading data
Review of tower drawings and fabrication details
Foundation Engineering Coordination
Soil data review and classification
Selection of suitable foundation types
Coordination for foundation design and BOQ
BOQ & Costing (Pre-bid & Execution)
Preparation of engineering BOQs for transmission line projects
Quantity estimation for:
Towers
Conductors
Insulators
Hardware fittings
Support in tendering and cost optimization
Survey & Site Coordination
Review of survey reports (topographical, soil investigation)
Conducting site visits for route validation and issue resolution
Coordination with execution team during construction
Documentation & Drawings
Preparation and review of:
Route maps
Tower schedules
Stringing charts
Clearance charts
Ensuring proper documentation control
Standards & Compliance
Ensure compliance with:
IEC
IEEE
IS standards and utility guidelines
Candidate Profile
Educational Qualification
B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Civil Engineering
M.Tech (Power Systems / Structural) – Preferred
Experience
5–7 years in transmission line design (HV/EHV)
Experience up to 220kV / 400kV / 765kV lines preferred
Technical Skills
Solid understanding of:
Transmission line design principles
Sag-tension calculations
Tower spotting and profiling
Hands-on experience with:
