Job Summary
The Biomedical/Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring of medical and laboratory equipment. The role ensures equipment reliability, compliance with safety standards, and uninterrupted clinical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Installation
Install and commission recent medical equipment.
Perform acceptance testing.
Coordinate with vendors during installation.
Preventive Maintenance
Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules.
Perform routine inspections and servicing.
Ensure equipment uptime.
Troubleshooting
Diagnose electrical, electronic, and mechanical faults.
Repair or coordinate repairs with vendors.
Minimize equipment downtime.
Calibration
Perform calibration of instruments and medical devices.
Maintain calibration records.
Ensure compliance with quality standards.
Documentation
Maintain maintenance logs and service reports.
Prepare equipment history records.
Update asset management systems.
Compliance
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
Participate in audits and accreditation activities.
Follow OEM guidelines.
User Support
Train clinicians and technicians on equipment operation.
Provide technical support.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns.
Inventory Management
Track spare parts and consumables.
Assist in equipment procurement.
Evaluate technical specifications for current equipment.
