Job Role: Autopilot Developer
Location: Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai

About the project:
The project funded by the Government focuses on developing and demonstrating drone and allied technologies. The project will address various applications through the utilization of advanced technologies and critical infrastructure. Robust industry connections and collaborations will be fostered to solve pertinent challenges and drive technological advancements. Additionally, comprehensive drone training and awareness programs will be provided to ensure proficiency and understanding among people.
Qualification and Key Skills Required:
• PhD with relevant experience OR
• MTech / ME or equivalent degree with relevant experience OR
BTech / BE or equivalent degree with relevant experience
Familiarity with autopilot systems, like PX4, ArduPilot
Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS)/ robot operating system (ROS) and firmware development
Proficiency in programming languages, such as C/ C++/ Python / embedded system,
MATLAB / Simulink
Knowledge of path planning / guidance system, control system, navigation/ sensor fusion algorithms
Understanding of integration of sensors, like IMUs, GPS, LiDAR, cameras, and communication protocols for hardware interfacing
Knowledge of drones / aerial robots.
Job Profile:
Design and develop autonomous flight control system for UAVs
Implement and test algorithms for path planning / guidance system, navigation system
Design embedded control hardware system
Integrate and calibrate various sensors (like IMUs, GPS, LiDAR, cameras)
Utilize simulation tools for testing and validation of autopilot systems
Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and safety standards for UAVs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the capabilities of UAV systems
Document design processes, test results, and provide technical reports
Any other work assigned as per requirement.
