Role Overview
We are looking for a Design Engineer – Casting with strong hands-on experience in CATIA V5 and automotive casting component design. The candidate will be responsible for developing and modifying 3D models, preparing manufacturing drawings, applying GD&T; and supporting the complete product development lifecycle for casting components.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop automotive casting components using CATIA V5.
Create and modify 3D CAD models, assemblies and 2D manufacturing drawings.
Work on engine/powertrain casting components such as:
Cylinder Block
Cylinder Head
Crankcase
Gearbox / Transmission Housing
Oil Sump
Other complex cast components
Apply GD&T;, dimensional tolerancing and engineering drawing standards.
Understand casting manufacturing processes and incorporate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
Perform design feasibility checks considering casting, machining and assembly requirements.
Support design reviews, engineering changes and drawing releases.
Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality,
Supplier and other cross-functional teams to resolve design/manufacturing issues.
Support tolerance stack-up and design optimization activities.
Ensure CAD models and drawings meet customer and project standards.
Maintain engineering data and documentation in PLM systems such as Teamcenter.
Participate in problem-solving, design improvements and VA/VE activities.

Good understanding of 2D drawing creation and manufacturing requirements.
Valuable communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with engine casting / complex casting components.
Experience with Teamcenter / PLM.
Knowledge of machining processes.
Exposure to tolerance stack-up analysis.
Experience working with OEM / Tier-1 automotive companies.
Knowledge of ECR/ECN and engineering change processes.
