Senior Technician - Repair & Testing
Category: Repair Operations
Qualification: Diploma / BE in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Hardware Engineering.
Experience: 3–6 years
Location: Bangalore
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Perform motherboard-level fault diagnosis and repair of laptops across various OEM brands.
Conduct chip-level soldering and desoldering of BGA, SMD, and QFN components using hot air rework stations and soldering tools.
Reprogram BIOS and perform firmware upgrades using specialized tools and programmers.
Identify and replace faulty ICs, capacitors, resistors, transistors, and MOSFETs.
Diagnose and resolve power-related issues, including VRM (Voltage Regulator Module), power rail faults, and short circuits.
Utilize schematics and board-view software (e.g., OpenBoardView, FlexBV) for tracing signals and debugging.
Perform stress testing and full validation of repaired motherboards to ensure long-term stability.
Maintain accurate documentation of repair findings,
parts used, and resolution methods.
Ensure adherence to ESD safety, quality standards, and repair TAT (Turnaround Time) targets.
Required Skills & Qualifications
3–6 years of hands-on experience in motherboard-level laptop repair.
Proficiency in chip-level rework techniques and advanced soldering practices.
Solid understanding of circuit diagrams, signal flow, and power sequences in laptops.
Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as multimeter, DC power supply, oscilloscope, and thermal cameras.
Experience with BIOS programming tools (e.g., RT809H, EZP, CH341A).
Ability to handle precision repairs under a microscope.
Preferred Skills
Ability to mentor L2 technicians and guide on escalated repair cases.
Basic knowledge of thermal management and heatsink reapplication.
Positive communication skills for technical reporting and coordination.
