Role & responsibilities
Plant Operations Management
Ensure smooth and continuous operation of ETP/STP systems.
Monitor treatment processes (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary treatment).
Maintain compliance with design parameters and discharge standards.
Optimize plant performance for cost and efficiency.
Regulatory & Environmental Compliance
Ensure treated water meets Pollution Control Board norms.
Maintain compliance with local environmental laws and consent conditions.
Coordinate with government authorities during inspections.
Prepare and submit environmental reports (monthly/quarterly/annual).
Process Monitoring & Control
Monitor key parameters of waste water
Ensure laboratory testing and proper documentation.
Take corrective actions for process deviations.
Maintenance & Equipment Management
Plan preventive and breakdown maintenance.
Ensure proper functioning of:
Pumps
Blowers
Clarifiers
Aeration systems
Filters
Sludge handling systems
Maintain spare parts inventory.
Team Supervision
Supervise plant operators, technicians, and helpers.
Prepare duty rosters and shift schedules.
Provide technical guidance and training.
Ensure discipline and safety compliance.
Safety Management
Implement safety procedures and PPE usage.
Conduct safety drills and toolbox talks.
Ensure chemical handling safety (Chlorine, Alum, Polymers, etc.).
Maintain MSDS documentation.
Chemical & Inventory Management
Monitor chemical consumption.
Maintain stock records.
Optimize dosing to reduce operational cost.
Sludge Management
Ensure proper sludge handling, drying, and disposal.
Maintain disposal records as per regulatory norms.
Energy & Cost Control
Monitor electricity consumption.
Identify energy-saving prospects.
Control operational costs.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain logbooks and operational records.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
Maintain calibration and maintenance records.
Skills Required
Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes.
