All roles below support U.S.-based tax engagements for Elevate partner firms and work closely with onshore tax teams.

Role – Tax Senior Associate
Experience Level: Mid-Level (3–6 years)
Work Schedule: 3:00 PM IST – 12:00 AM IST (4:30 AM EST – 1:00 PM EST).
Location: Ahmedabad, India (Office / Hybrid).

Overview
The Tax Senior Associate plays a lead role in preparing and reviewing U.S. tax engagements, supervising staff, and ensuring high-quality, timely delivery of returns and workpapers . This role requires solid technical proficiency in federal and state tax laws, sound project management capability, and the ability to mentor junior team members while adapting fluidly to evolving client requirements and software environments.

Key Responsibilities
Tax Preparation & Review
Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns—with a focus on C-Corporations (1120), S-Corporations (1120S), Partnerships (1065), and Individual (1040) returns—ensuring accurate calculations, sound accounting treatment, and tax law compliance.
Review workpapers prepared by associates for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to engagement standards.
Provide technical guidance to preparers on complex or challenging issues, drawing on a strong working knowledge of U.S. tax law.
Facilitate onboarding and ongoing training for the team,



including updates on relevant tax law changes and software developments.
Work Allocation
Assign and track daily work for preparers, monitoring progress to ensure timely and accurate completion.
Follow up on outstanding items and actively support the team in clearing bottlenecks before they impact delivery.
Client Deliverables
Ensure completed tax returns and supporting documentation are submitted to onshore teams within agreed timelines.
Incorporate client feedback promptly, make required revisions, and re-submit deliverables with minimal turnaround time.
Project Ownership
Contribute to firm-wide and cross-functional projects as needed to support broader business objectives.
Adapt quickly to updates in client procedures, policies, or software, and ensure clear communication of changes to the team.
Compliance & Standards
Uphold organizational policies, quality standards, and best practices across all engagement deliverables.
Always ensure strict adherence to information security protocols and data protection guidelines.

Skills Required
Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax concepts, industry practices, accounting principles, and compliance requirements.
Hands-on experience with tax software such as CCH Axcess, GoSystem, UltraTax, or Lacerte (CCH Axcess preferred).
QuickBooks exposure is a strong plus.
Strong computer proficiency across Microsoft Office applications.




Quality and timeliness, delivering accurate, complete work on schedule.
Independent problem-solving, with the ability to identify issues and work through them with minimal oversight.
Solid understanding of how bookkeeping and financial statements feed into the tax return.
Proven organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, particularly in a cross-border, remote-collaboration environment.
Sound judgment and the ability to plan, prioritize, and accomplish goals independently.

Qualifications
3–6 years of U.S. taxation experience, with a demonstrated focus on C-Corporation (1120), S-Corporation (1120S), Partnership (1065), and Individual (1040) returns in a public accounting firm.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field; CA/CPA/EA or pursuing preferred.
In-depth knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax laws.
Prior experience supporting or collaborating with U.S.-based tax teams in an offshore or nearshore delivery model.
Comfortable working in prescribed shift hours, including extended hours during peak tax season.
