Family Accountant
Location: Nariman Point, Mumbai
Experience: 4–7 years
Salary: ₹50,000 per month (fixed, negotiable for the right profile)
About the Job
We are looking for a sharp, dependable, and discreet Family Accountant to manage the financial affairs of a private family. This is a hands-on role covering personal income tax, investment tracking, household payments, and day-to-day financial administration. The ideal candidate should be tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling sensitive financial information with a high degree of confidentiality and ownership.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and reconcile personal bank accounts, credit cards, and cash flows.
Handle personal payments including utility bills, vendor payments, staff salaries, subscriptions, and recurring household expenses.
Prepare and file personal income tax returns (ITR) and track advance tax, TDS credits, Form 26AS/AIS reconciliation, and tax planning opportunities.
Track and consolidate investment portfolios, including equity holdings, mutual funds, demat accounts, capital gains, dividends, and portfolio performance.
Track real estate holdings, rental income, property tax, lease renewals, and related documentation.
Maintain personal balance sheets and monthly cash flow statements.
Liaise with CAs, tax consultants, wealth managers, and bankers on filings, audits, and investment documentation.
Maintain organised digital records of receipts, invoices, contracts, and financial statements.
Proactively track tax-saving opportunities, investment renewals, maturity dates, and compliance deadlines.
Support insurance renewals, loan documentation, EMI tracking, and other financial administration requirements.
Requirements
4–7 years of experience in personal/family accounting, taxation, wealth advisory, or a related finance role.
Working knowledge of Indian personal income tax law, including slabs, deductions, capital gains, and filing requirements.
CA-Inter, M.Com, or equivalent qualification is a strong plus but not mandatory with relevant experience.
Hands-on exposure to equity markets and mutual fund investments, with the ability to understand portfolio statements.
Working knowledge of property-related finances, including rental yield, property tax, capital gains, and basic documentation.
Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, Tally or similar bookkeeping tools, and online banking/payment platforms.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage financial deadlines accurately.
Absolute discretion and trustworthiness when handling sensitive financial information.
Proactive, well-organised, and comfortable working independently.
Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate with family members and external advisors.
