About the Role
We're a design agency working almost exclusively with clients in Banking,
Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI) banks, insurers, NBFCs, and
ntechs. We're looking for a Mid-Level UX Designer who can design for high-
stakes, high-compliance journeys (loan applications, insurance claims, credit
onboarding, KYC). someone who's comfortable juggling multiple clients, tight
timelines, and shifting priorities without losing quality.
What You'll Do
o
o
o
Own UX design for BFSI client engagements journeys like account opening,
loan/credit applications, policy purchase, claims, and renewals often running
2+ projects concurrently
Quickly get up to speed on unfamiliar nancial products and regulatory contexts
(e.g. IRDAI, RBI, SEBI guidelines depending on the client) well enough to design
credibly within them
Lead or support client requirement-gathering workshops, translating
stakeholder input and compliance constraints into transparent problem statements
and design direction
Design user ows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-delity UI for journeys that
are often long, form-heavy, and trust-sensitive
Write UX copy that simplies nancial and legal jargon for end users without
compromising mandatory disclosures partnering with legal/compliance
reviewers where copy is locked
o
o
Present and defend design decisions directly to client stakeholders, including
pushing back diplomatically when a request conicts with usability or
compliance
Navigate the reality that some UI elements, elds, and copy are non-negotiable
(regulatory or underwriting requirements) and design well within those
constraints rather than around them
Adapt to each client's existing design system and brand guidelines rather than
working from one internal system
Collaborate with account/project managers to ag scope creep, compliance
review delays, or unclear requirements before they become timeline risk
Hand o clean, well-documented designs so client-side or agency engineering
teams can implement without back-and-forth
What We're Looking For
25 years of UX design experience, ideally with some exposure to BFSI, ntech,
or another regulated/compliance-heavy domain
A portfolio that shows you can design clearly within constraints not just
greeneld, low-stakes consumer apps
Experience running or contributing to client workshops and requirement-
gathering sessions, comfortable asking sharp questions live
Strong ow, wireframing, and prototyping skills (Figma or equivalent)
Ability to write plain-language UX copy for complex nancial concepts
(premiums, interest rates, sum insured, KYC, etc.) without losing accuracy
Comfort presenting and defending design rationale directly to clients, including
pushing back when needed
Proven ability to work under real deadline pressure across multiple concurrent
projects without sacricing quality
Resilience with ambiguity BFSI briefs often come with incomplete
information, shifting compliance requirements, or legal review that changes
scope mid-project
Nice to Have
Prior experience designing for banks, insurers, NBFCs, or ntech products
specically
Familiarity with regulatory bodies relevant to Indian BFSI (IRDAI, RBI, SEBI) and
how they shape UX (mandatory disclosures, KYC ows, grievance redressal)
Experience working alongside legal/compliance teams on copy and content
review
Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and designing for varied
nancial literacy levels
Experience managing 2+ concurrent client projects independently
