Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced MES Solution Architect / Technical Lead to own the architecture, design, development, integration, and implementation of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and shop-floor digital solutions.

The role will be responsible for translating manufacturing and business requirements into scalable technology solutions, leading a team of developers, driving MES integrations with enterprise and shop-floor systems, and ensuring high-quality delivery aligned with enterprise architecture and software engineering standards.

The ideal candidate should have solid hands-on experience in MES architecture, manufacturing processes, Angular, .NET Core/C#, SQL Server, Azure DevOps, system integration, and technical team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

1. MES & Manufacturing Systems

- Own the architecture and design of MES/MOM and shop-floor applications.
- Design and implement solutions for work order execution, production scheduling, resource management, downtime tracking, traceability, and quality management.
- Integrate MES with ERP, PLM, WMS, SCADA and other manufacturing systems.
- Understand and translate manufacturing processes into effective digital solutions.
- Work with manufacturing KPIs including OEE, throughput, scrap, rework, downtime and production efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance for production execution and shop-floor digitalization initiatives.
- Ensure solutions support manufacturing standards and best practices.

2. Solution Architecture & Technical Leadership

- Take end-to-end ownership of solution architecture and technical design.
- Design scalable, secure, reliable and high-performance applications.
- Prepare architecture documents, technical specifications and solution design documents.
- Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture, security and technology standards.
- Identify technical risks and provide appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Conduct technical reviews and provide architecture guidance to development teams.

3. Application Development & Technology





- Provide hands-on technical leadership using:
- Angular latest versions
- .NET Core / C#
- RESTful Web APIs
- Microsoft SQL Server

- Design database schemas, stored procedures and optimized queries.
- Perform SQL Server performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Review code and ensure adherence to established coding standards.
- Develop prototypes/POCs where required to validate technical solutions.

4. Data & Analytics

- Work with large volumes of OT/shop-floor and manufacturing data.
- Support big-data ingestion and shop-floor data processing initiatives.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams on data pipelines and integration.
- Enable manufacturing analytics and dashboard solutions.
- Provide technical insights for manufacturing KPIs and operational performance.

5. DevOps & Cloud

- Drive Azure DevOps practices including:
- Git and source-code management
- Branching and merge strategies
- CI/CD pipelines
- Build and release management
- Automated deployments

- Establish deployment automation and monitoring practices.
- Support application performance and production monitoring.
- Leverage Azure cloud services where appropriate for manufacturing solutions.

6. Software Engineering & Quality

- Establish and enforce software development best practices.
- Ensure appropriate unit testing, integration testing and automated testing.
- Promote deployment automation and continuous improvement.
- Conduct peer reviews and technical design reviews.
- Ensure adequate technical and solution documentation.
- Drive root-cause analysis and resolution of complex technical issues.

7. Team Leadership & People Management

- Lead and manage a team of 10+ developers.
- Allocate work and monitor delivery and performance.
- Mentor and coach developers on technical and engineering practices.
- Establish and enforce coding and development standards.
- Conduct technical knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Support team development, engagement and morale.




- Identify skill gaps and drive appropriate development initiatives.

8. Agile / Scrum

- Participate in and facilitate:
- Sprint planning
- Backlog grooming/refinement
- Daily stand-ups
- Sprint retrospectives
- Sprint demos

- Work closely with Product Owners and business stakeholders to prioritize technical activities.
- Ensure sprint commitments are understood and delivered.
- Identify dependencies and risks affecting sprint delivery.

9. Stakeholder Management

- Partner with Manufacturing Operations, Process Engineering, Quality, Plant IT and senior management.
- Understand business and manufacturing challenges and translate them into technical solutions.
- Present architecture, technical recommendations and project status to senior stakeholders.
- Prepare regular technical/project status reports.
- Coordinate with global teams, plant stakeholders and external vendors where required.

10. Problem Solving & Production Support

- Diagnose and resolve complex application and performance issues.
- Perform performance profiling, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Support implementation, deployment and production stabilization.
- Develop technical prototypes to evaluate alternative solutions.
- Provide hands-on support during critical manufacturing system implementations.

Preferred / Additional Skills

- Experience with IIoT technologies such as:
- MQTT
- OPC UA
- SECS/GEM

- Knowledge of OT/IT convergence and industrial digitalization.
- Experience with multi-plant or global MES rollouts.
- Experience with Azure cloud platforms in manufacturing environments.
- Understanding of Lean / Six Sigma principles.
- Experience managing MES technology vendors and implementation partners.
- Knowledge of ISA-95 / MESA frameworks is an advantage.

Education & Certifications

Required:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
- Computer Science
- Information Technology / Information Systems
- Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Related technical discipline

Preferred:

- MES/MOM certifications
- ISA-95 certification
- MESA-related certification
