Role Overview
- The Organization is an industrial spatial computing and digital twin platform serving enterprise customers.
- We are seeking a proactive Sales Executive to be based at our Centre of Excellence at VIT Chennai.
- This is explicitly a sales-first role.
- Campus access, industry delegations, and institutional relationships are the channels for creating opportunities; the expected outcomes are qualified pipeline, product demonstrations, pilots, and commercial conversion.
- The ideal candidate will preferably have experience as a Placement Officer, Corporate Relations Officer, University Industry Liaison, or in a university-industry engagement role.
- They must be comfortable proactively prospecting, engaging decision-makers, giving product demonstrations, maintaining disciplined CRM records, and converting leads into commercial opportunities.
- Student identification is a secondary responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales and Pipeline Generation
- Generate qualified business leads through industry delegations, corporate visitors, alumni, campus events, and direct outreach.
- Proactively identify, approach, and engage relevant companies and decision-makers; do not rely solely on inbound campus visitors.
- Build relationships with senior business leaders, HR leaders, innovation teams, operations leaders, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Qualify prospects based on business need, decision-making authority, use case, commercial potential, and next-step readiness.
- Build a measurable sales pipeline and consistently progress opportunities from initial engagement through to commercial discussions.
- Product Demonstrations and Conversion
- Present the Organizations industrial spatial computing and digital twin platform clearly and confidently to potential customers and partners.
- Conduct product demonstrations and discovery discussions that connect platform capabilities to customer challenges and use cases.
- Identify and initiate opportunities for pilots, proof of concepts, partnerships, and commercial engagements.
- Follow up consistently with prospects and coordinate with internal product, sales, and leadership teams to advance opportunities.
- Support proposal development, commercial discussions, and conversion of qualified leads into customers or strategic partnerships.
- CRM, Reporting, and Campus Engagement
- Maintain accurate, timely CRM records for all leads, meetings, follow-ups, chance stages, next actions, and expected closure dates.
- Track and report on lead-generation performance, pipeline value, conversion rates, product demonstrations, pilots, and commercial outcomes.
- Coordinate with the Centre of Excellence, faculty, placement cell, and college leadership to create access to relevant industry engagement opportunities.
- Represent the Organizations at campus events, industry visits, seminars, product sessions, and networking forums.
- Strengthen the Organizations visibility and relationships within the campus and industry ecosystem.
- Secondary Talent-Support Responsibility
- Identify exceptional students with relevant technical and professional potential during campus engagements.
- Share suitable student profiles with the internal hiring team when appropriate; this responsibility must not detract from core sales outcomes.
Desired Profile
- Experience as a Placement Officer, Corporate Relations Executive, University Industry Liaison, or similar role is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with companies, recruiters, industry professionals, and institutional stakeholders.
- Proven proactive prospecting and lead-generation capability, with a measurable performance orientation.
- Comfortable delivering product demonstrations and engaging potential customers in business-focused conversations.
- Disciplined in CRM usage, sales follow-up, pipeline tracking, and reporting.
- Strong communication, presentation, networking, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Interest in software products, enterprise technology, spatial computing, and industrial digital transformation.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently from a campus-based location.
Success Metrics
- Number, quality, and value of qualified sales leads generated.
- Lead-to-meeting, meeting-to-demonstration, and demonstration-to-pilot conversion rates.
- Number and value of product demonstrations, pilots, and commercial opportunities initiated.
- Revenue pipeline and commercial conversion generated through campus and industry engagement.
- CRM hygiene, follow-up discipline, and accuracy of sales reporting.
- Strength of relationships built with visiting organizations and industry stakeholders.
