Purpose/Objective

The Team member - Rail Logistics is reponsible for all rail transportation activities, ensuring effective and timely movement of goods.
This role involves managing rail logistics performance, coordinating with rail supervisors, optimizing railcar utilization, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations, thereby contributing to the overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the logistics function.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Rail Logistics Management: - Oversee all rail transportation activities, ensuring efficient and timely movement of goods.
- Coordinate with rail supervisors to monitor loading and unloading processes at rail terminals.
Performance Monitoring: - Monitor rail logistics performance to ensure adherence to schedules and optimize delivery performance.
- Collaborate with the Head Plant Logistics and other stakeholders to address any issues in rail operations and implement improvements.
- Analyse rail transport data to identify trends and areas for optimization.
Rail Supervisor Management: - Coordinate with rail supervisors to ensure that rail cars are loaded and unloaded promptly to minimize delays.
- Supervise rail operations staff, ensuring efficient rail movement.
- Provide training and guidance to team members of rail operations.
Cost Management: - Monitor rail transportation costs and implement cost-saving measures.
- Optimize railcar utilization for cost efficiency.
Safety and Compliance: - Ensure adherence to safety regulations and compliance with logistics standards.
- Implement safety measures to minimize risks during rail transportation.
Ethical Standards - Use ethical reasoning to guide decisions, considering the broader impact on the organization and stakeholders.
- Ensure all communications, both verbal and written,



reflect the organization’s commitment to integrity and ethics.
Policy Adherence and Development - Implement and enforce organizational policies to maintain consistency and alignment with corporate objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

Education Qualification - Master's degree in Business Administration specialized in Operations and Supply Chain Management.
Work Experience (Range of years) - 7+ years of experience in rail logistics, transportation management, and dispatch coordination Industry Knowledge - Demonstrate proficiency in rail operations, logistics planning, and cost control.
