Job Description - FPA COE Finance Manager

About the Role

Here is a remarkable opportunity to become part of eBay's FPA Center of Excellence (COE) and invent the future of global Finance. The FPA COE operates globally to centralize, standardize, and scale essential financial planning and analysis functions. This role within the Marketing Finance vertical will deliver outstanding FPA results, improve financial processes, and enhance the tools and capabilities for managing Marketing investments.

This position focuses on delivering outcomes and involves managing a team. The successful applicant will directly handle critical FPA functions while supervising, mentoring, and supporting team growth. The role demands strong financial knowledge, precision, operational accountability, and the ability to advance process and technology improvements from conception to rollout.

About the Team

The FPA COE provides global FPA teams and business units with centralized functions and expert support in month-end close, forecasting, reporting, financial analysis, and business performance management. The Marketing Finance COE partners with Marketing Finance, Marketing business teams, Controllership,



and other cross-functional collaborators to produce accurate OPEX accruals and forecasts, month-end close reports, spending visibility, variance analysis, and actionable financial insights.

Key Responsibilities

- Own and complete core Marketing FPA activities, including close, accruals, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and analysis.
- Act as a key point of contact for Marketing Finance collaborators, ensuring timely and well-controlled deliverables.
- Review and validate OPEX accruals, forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis, providing clear insights on financial performance.
- Partner with Finance and business teams to understand investment plans, cost drivers, risks, opportunities, and changes in assumptions.
- Build scalable reports, dashboards, analytical tools, and insights to improve spend visibility and decision-making.
- Lead or support the end-to-end development of finance tools, including requirements, building, testing, user acceptance, documentation, launch, transition, and stabilization.
- Drive process standardization, simplification, automation, and continuous improvement across FPA activities.
- Lead or assist in moving Marketing Finance activities into the COE, ensuring defined ownership, controls, governance, documentation, and service expectations.
- Partner with Controllership and Finance teams to ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements.
- Contribute to the development of the COE operating model, governance, performance metrics, and guidelines.
- Manage, mentor, and nurture team members while remaining directly accountable for execution,



quality, prioritization, and delivery.
- Prioritise multiple priorities and timelines effectively in a energetic, matrixed environment.

Experience and Qualifications

- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience; CA, CPA, CMA, ACCA, MBA, or similar qualification preferred.
- 6-8 years of relevant experience in FPA, financial analysis, accounting, or business finance; Marketing FPA or related experience is preferred.
- Solid understanding of accrual accounting, budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Proven ability to independently manage complex FPA deliverables with accuracy, accountability, and strong attention to controls.
- Experience leading and mentoring team members while retaining direct responsibility for implementation.
- Experience leading process transitions, standardization, operating-model improvements, or automation initiatives.
- Experience developing and implementing financial tools, dashboards, models, reports, or automated solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, spreadsheet, and presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across functions, levels, and geographies in a matrixed and evolving environment.
- Experience with tools such as Anaplan, SAP, BW, Tableau, Power BI, workflow platforms, AI, or similar technologies.
- Experience managing the full lifecycle of a tool or process solution, including build, testing, implementation, launch, transition, adoption, and stabilization.
- Strong dedication to quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
