Job Summary
As a full-time mental health provider for Spring Health, you will focus on delivering specialized substance use disorders interventions to Spring Health's member network.
Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy for adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions, using interventions such as Motivational Interviewing (MI/MET), CBT for SUD, relapse prevention, and harm reduction strategies.
- Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments, evaluating symptom severity, readiness for change, recovery supports, co-occurring mental health conditions, and safety risks to inform individualized treatment planning.
- Develop person-centered treatment plans using an ASAM-informed framework, including recommendations for appropriate levels of care and referrals when clinically indicated.
- Support members across all stages of recovery-including those who are actively using substances, ambivalent about change, or returning to use-through compassionate, recovery-oriented care.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members, including medication managers, Specialty Care Navigators, and Peer Recovery Specialists to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Monitor member progress using measurement-based care and data-driven clinical decision making to adjust treatment plans and improve outcomes.
- Provide mental health counseling sessions, including clinical risk assessments, safety planning, and crisis intervention when appropriate.
- Complete required internal training, assignments and attend Spring Health Clinical Team meetings.
- Follow Spring Health policies and maintain all confidentiality, compliance, and ethical standards.
- Review monthly projections, client metrics,
and clinical outcomes to monitor quality client care.
Requirements
- You have an unrestricted license to practice psychotherapy with the state of: TX, CA, or PA. We are not able to accept applications from anyone requiring licensed supervision.
- 2+ years of post-licensed experience.
- You have the ability to work a full 40 hour work week.
- You're comfortable with technology and a virtual/telehealth competent.
- You are able and eager to maintain an average caseload of 30 sessions per week.
- You have at least two years of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals with substance use disorders, with SUD treatment representing a meaningful portion of your clinical practice.
- You are trained in evidence-based approaches for SUD treatment, including Motivational Interviewing (MI/MET) and one or more interventions such as CBT for SUD, relapse prevention, contingency management, or other evidence-based addiction treatments.
- You are comfortable working with members across all stages of change, including individuals who are actively using substances, exploring harm reduction goals, or pursuing abstinence-based recovery.
- You are confident in assessing substance use severity, relapse risk, withdrawal risk, recovery support, and the need for higher levels of care.
- You understand the role of medications for substance use disorders (e.g., MAUD/MOUD) and enjoy collaborating with prescribing clinicians as part of an integrated care team.
- You are comfortable with providing safety planning and intervention during situations where a client might present with higher risks.
- You are committed to quality clinical care and want to expand your capabilities and increase your effectiveness by being informed of client progress or challenges.
- You like working independently but would also enjoy having the support of a team and opportunities for connections and collaboration with other providers and our master's level clinical care navigators.
Nice to have
- Experience providing evidence-based interventions (Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure) to individuals with PTSD.
- Experience working within an integrated behavioral health, cooperative care, or multidisciplinary treatment model.
- Training or experience using the ASAM Criteria to inform treatment planning and level-of-care recommendations.
- Familiarity with measurement-based care tools used in addiction treatment (e.g., Brief Addiction Monitor).
- Willingness to be cross-licensed in other states; sponsored by Spring Health.
- Open to treating populations beyond adults such as children, adolescents, couples, or families.
- Openness to working nights and weekends.
- Experience working in a mental health tech/start up environment
