Firmware Lead Embedded Systems & Power Electronics
Location: Coimbatore

1. Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Firmware Lead to lead embedded firmware architecture, development, integration, and validation for embedded and power-electronics-based products. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Embedded C/C++, ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers, RTOS, device drivers, communication protocols, control algorithms, and hardware-software debugging. The position will also lead firmware engineers, manage technical risks and work closely with hardware, power electronics, mechanical and validation teams.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the firmware development team and manage end-to-end firmware project execution.
- Define firmware architecture, coding standards, design guidelines and development processes.
- Design, develop and optimize embedded firmware using Embedded C and C++.
- Develop and integrate RTOS-based embedded applications for real-time systems.
- Develop low-level device drivers, peripheral interfaces, communication stacks and application firmware.
- Implement firmware for PWM generation, closed-loop control, PID control, voltage/current control, PFC and motor-control applications.
- Conduct firmware design reviews, source-code reviews, test-plan reviews and technical risk assessments.
- Debug complex hardware-software integration, timing, communication and system-performance issues.
- Work closely with hardware, power electronics,
mechanical, testing and validation teams throughout the product-development lifecycle.
- Design and support bootloader, firmware upgrade and memory-management mechanisms.
- Support product validation, certification, production release and field/customer issue resolution.
- Mentor firmware engineers, conduct technical training, manage resource allocation and support project planning and stakeholder reviews.
3. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Power Electronics, Embedded Systems or a related engineering discipline.
- 15 20 years of relevant experience in embedded firmware/product development.
- Strong hands-on development experience in Embedded C and C++.
- Proven experience leading firmware teams and delivering embedded products through the complete development lifecycle.
- Strong experience with microcontrollers, RTOS, peripheral drivers and communication protocols.
- Practical understanding of power electronics fundamentals and digital control techniques.
- Strong debugging capability across firmware, hardware and system interfaces.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary product-development environments.

- Exposure to embedded Linux integration and system-level debugging is beneficial.
