1. Aircraft Flight Mechanics & Dynamics
- Develop and maintain 6-DOF nonlinear aircraft flight-dynamics models.
- Develop mathematical models for aircraft rigid-body dynamics, aerodynamics, propulsion, actuators, landing gear, and environmental effects.
- Perform aircraft trim, stability, control, and performance analyses across the flight envelope.
- Determine and analyze aerodynamic derivatives, stability derivatives, control derivatives, and propulsion characteristics.
- Perform longitudinal, lateral, and directional stability and controllability assessments.
- Conduct performance studies including take-off, climb, cruise, descent, transition, hover/VTOL, range, endurance, and landing as applicable.
- Develop flight-mechanics models and analysis required for flight-control-law development.
- Generate trim points, linearised models, aerodynamic derivatives, and operating-point data for control-law design. Evolve gain scheduling, control allocation, control mixing, and mode-transition logic development.
- Analyze control-system performance, stability margins, actuator utilization, and control authority.
- Support SIL, MIL, PIL, HIL, iron-bird, and flight-test simulations.
2. Modeling & Simulation
- Develop models at appropriate levels of fidelity ranging from conceptual/low-fidelity models to high-fidelity nonlinear simulations.
- Develop and maintain simulation environments using MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C/C++, or equivalent tools.
- Implement aircraft, propulsion, actuator, sensor, environment, and flight-control models.
- Perform model correlation against wind-tunnel, component-test, ground-test, and flight-test data.
- Establish model validation processes.
3. Aircraft Performance & Handling Qualities
- Perform aircraft performance analysis and establish aircraft performance databases.
- Conduct handling-quality assessments and support development of handling-quality criteria.
- Evaluate aircraft response characteristics such as Time constants, Natural frequencies, Control response, Hover and transition response etc.
- Support development and analysis of flight-envelope boundaries.
- Develop and simulate failure, fault, and degraded-mode scenarios.
- Support FHA, FMEA, FTA, SSA, and system safety activities from a flight-dynamics perspective.
4. Flight-Test & Data Analysis
- Support preparation of flight-test plans, test cards, and flight-test instrumentation requirements.
- Analyze flight-test data and correlate simulation predictions with actual aircraft behavior.
- Perform parameter identification and estimation of aerodynamic and dynamic characteristics from flight data.
- Investigate discrepancies between simulation, ground-test, and flight-test results.
5. Certification & Technical Documentation
- Support preparation of engineering analyses and compliance evidence as per certification requirements.
- Prepare technical reports, analysis notes, model documentation, simulation reports, and verification evidence.
