Engine Transmission Lead Engineer

Scope of Role

responsible for end‑to‑end technical leadership and delivery of transmission commodities within automotive powertrain programs. The role owns system definition, design maturity, integration, validation, and launch readiness of manual, automatic, hybrid, and electrified transmission systems from concept through SOP, ensuring performance, durability, cost, quality, and regulatory compliance targets are met.

Area of Responsibility

. Act as Lead Engineer for transmission systems across the complete KO to SOP lifecycle

. Own technical responsibility and delivery for transmission components and subsystems including:

o Gear sets, shafts, clutches, actuators

o Housings, mounts, lubrication and cooling circuits

o Transmission control interfaces (mechanical & electro‑mechanical scope)

.Define and manage system and component‑level requirements, specifications, and interfaces

. Lead transmission system architecture, packaging, and powertrain integration activities

. Drive design maturity,



technical reviews, and engineering change management

. Ensure compliance with performance, durability, NVH, thermal, safety, and regulatory requirements

. Own and execute DVP&R; planning, validation strategy, and test reviews

. Lead DFMEA, risk assessments, and corrective action implementation

. Coordinate cross‑functional teams (NVH, thermal, controls, manufacturing, quality, vehicle integration)

.Manage supplier technical development, design reviews, timing, and issue resolution

. Support industrialization, manufacturing feasibility, and transmission launch readiness

. Act as the primary technical interface to OEM customers for transmission‑related topics

Tools - CatiaV5/V6, Vismockup, Teamcenter, 3Dx, RMDV, JIRA etc

Knowledge / Experience - 4 to 8 Years

Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering or related discipline.
