RequirementsWe are looking for an Expert-level SAP S/4HANA Production Planning (PP) Consultant with strong hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA Brownfield implementations and transformation projects.

The ideal candidate should have deep functional expertise across Production Planning, MRP, Production Orders, BOMs, Routings, Work Centers, Demand Management, Capacity Planning, and Shop Floor Execution within SAP S/4HANA.

Experience working on Brownfield SAP S/4HANA implementations, particularly within the Semiconductor, Electronics, High-Tech, or complex discrete manufacturing industries, is highly preferred.

The candidate will be responsible for solution design, configuration, business process optimization, integration, testing, cutover, and production support activities across the SAP PP landscape.

Key Responsibilities
SAP S/4HANA Production Planning

- Act as an SAP S/4HANA PP Subject Matter Expert (SME) for production planning and manufacturing processes.

- Lead SAP PP solution design and implementation activities for S/4HANA transformation programs.

- Analyze existing ECC/legacy SAP PP processes and determine the appropriate approach for migration to S/4HANA.

- Configure SAP S/4HANA PP based on business requirements and SAP best practices.

- Support end-to-end production planning and execution processes.

- Identify opportunities to simplify and optimize existing production planning processes during the S/4HANA transformation.

Brownfield S/4HANA Implementation

- Participate in and lead Brownfield SAP S/4HANA implementation/conversion projects.

- Assess existing SAP ECC PP configurations, customizations, master data, and business processes.

- Determine which existing processes can be retained, redesigned, or optimized in S/4HANA.

- Support fit-to-standard / fit-to-gap analysis and business process workshops.

- Identify functional gaps and recommend appropriate S/4HANA solutions.





- Support configuration, testing, data validation, cutover, and go-live activities.

- Work closely with technical teams on custom developments, enhancements, interfaces, and data migration.

Production Planning & MRP

- Configure and support Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes in S/4HANA.

- Work with MRP controllers and business teams to optimize planning parameters.

- Support MRP Live / MRP-related S/4HANA planning processes.

- Configure planning strategies, lot sizing, procurement proposals, and planning parameters.

- Support demand-driven and forecast-based production planning.

- Analyze MRP exceptions and planning issues and provide solutions.

Production Master Data

- Configure and support production-related master data, including:

- Material Master

- Bill of Materials (BOM)

- Routings

- Work Centers

- Production Versions

- Work Center Capacities

- Production Resources/Tools where applicable

- Ensure master data supports efficient production planning and execution.

- Work with business teams to establish appropriate master data governance.

Production Execution

- Support end-to-end production order processes.

- Configure and troubleshoot:

- Production Order Creation

- Order Release

- Material Staging

- Goods Issue

- Confirmation

- Goods Receipt

- Order Settlement

- Support production scheduling and shop-floor execution processes.

- Troubleshoot production order and execution issues.

Capacity Planning

- Configure and support capacity planning and capacity evaluation.

- Analyze work center capacity requirements and availability.

- Support production scheduling and capacity leveling.

- Work with manufacturing teams to identify bottlenecks and improve capacity utilization.

Demand Management & Planning

- Support Demand Management and planning strategies.

- Configure and manage planned independent requirements where applicable.

- Support integration between demand planning and production planning.

- Analyze demand versus capacity and production requirements.

Semiconductor / High-Tech Manufacturing Experience

Experience in the Semiconductor industry is strongly preferred.

Candidates with experience in the following industries may also be considered:

- Semiconductor manufacturing

- Electronics manufacturing

- High-Tech manufacturing

- Advanced manufacturing

- Discrete manufacturing

- Industrial manufacturing

Exposure to semiconductor manufacturing processes such as wafer fabrication, assembly, testing, yield-related processes, complex BOM structures, production scheduling, or highly controlled manufacturing environments will be an advantage.

Integration Experience





Strong understanding of SAP PP integration with other SAP modules, including:

- SAP MM – Material Management and procurement

- SAP QM – Quality Management

- SAP SD – Sales and distribution-related planning

- SAP CO – Product costing and production controlling

- SAP FI – Financial integration

- SAP EWM – Warehouse and material staging processes

- SAP PM – Plant maintenance and equipment-related processes

Experience working with MES, shop-floor systems, or third-party manufacturing systems is an added advantage.

Testing & Deployment

- Prepare functional specifications and test scenarios.

- Support unit testing, integration testing, system integration testing, and UAT.

- Coordinate with business users during UAT.

- Support defect analysis and resolution.

- Participate in cutover planning and execution.

- Support go-live and hypercare activities.

- Validate production planning processes after deployment.

Stakeholder Management

- Lead discussions with manufacturing, supply chain, planning, and business stakeholders.

- Conduct process workshops and requirement-gathering sessions.

- Translate business requirements into scalable SAP S/4HANA solutions.

- Communicate complex SAP PP concepts effectively to both technical and business teams.

- Coordinate with cross-functional SAP and technical teams.

- Provide expert recommendations on SAP PP process improvements.

Required Skills & Experience

- 8+ years of SAP PP consulting experience with strong hands-on functional expertise.

- Expert-level knowledge of SAP Production Planning.

- Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA PP.

- Proven experience in SAP S/4HANA Brownfield implementation/conversion projects.

- Strong experience with:

- MRP / MRP Live

- Production Orders

- BOMs

- Routings

- Work Centers

- Production Versions

- Demand Management

- Capacity Planning

- Production Scheduling

- Shop Floor Execution

- Strong understanding of SAP PP integration with MM, QM, CO, SD, EWM, and other relevant modules.

- Experience with SAP implementation lifecycle including design, configuration, testing, cutover, and go-live.

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous Semiconductor industry experience strongly preferred.

- Experience with High-Tech / Electronics manufacturing.

- Experience in complex discrete manufacturing environments.

- Experience with MES or shop-floor integration.

- SAP S/4HANA certification is an advantage.

- Experience working with global SAP transformation programs.

- Experience in consulting environments with client-facing responsibilities.
