About the Role

We are seeking a skilled SAP Account-Based CO-PA / Margin Analysis specialist to lead design, configuration, and support of profitability reporting on SAP S/4HANA. This role focuses on the Universal Journal-based Margin Analysis model, ensuring real-time, GL-reconciled profitability data across products, customers, and markets, without the reconciliation gaps typical of classic costing-based CO-PA.

Key Responsibilities

- Configure and support Account-Based CO-PA / Margin Analysis in the Universal Journal (ACDOCA) on S/4HANA

- Define and maintain characteristics (fixed and custom), attributes, and derivation rules for margin reporting

- Configure cost of goods sold (COGS) splitting, production variance categorization, and PA transfer structures

- Set up and maintain document splitting, revenue and cost element mapping, and profitability segment characteristics

- Ensure real-time reconciliation between FI, CO, and Margin Analysis by design (no periodic true-up needed)

- Partner with SD, MM, and Production Planning teams to validate revenue, cost, and variance flows into Margin Analysis

- Support month-end/quarter-end close activities related to profitability and margin reporting

- Lead or support S/4HANA migration/conversion projects, including redesign from classic costing-based CO-PA to Account-Based Margin Analysis

- Design and build reports using Report Painter, Embedded Analytics (Fiori/CDS views), or SAC for margin and profitability analysis

- Work with business/finance stakeholders to gather requirements for new profitability dimensions,



market segments, or products

- Prepare functional specifications and coordinate with ABAP/BASIS teams on enhancements, BAdIs, and custom derivations

- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support UAT for margin analysis functionality

- Provide production support and troubleshoot profitability/margin data discrepancies

- Document configuration, data flows, and training materials for finance and controlling teams

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field

- 3 8+ years of SAP Controlling (CO) experience, with hands-on Account-Based CO-PA / Margin Analysis configuration

- Strong understanding of the S/4HANA Universal Journal (ACDOCA) architecture and how Margin Analysis replaces classic CO-PA

- Experience with COGS split, PA transfer structures, and production variance settlement to Margin Analysis

- Solid grasp of integration points with SD (billing/revenue), MM (costs), and FI-GL

- Experience with document splitting and its impact on profitability segment derivation

- Familiarity with Embedded Analytics, CDS views, Fiori apps (e.g., Margin Analysis apps), or SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for reporting

- Understanding of the differences/tradeoffs between costing-based and account-based CO-PA, and rationale for migration

- Robust analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills

- Excellent communication skills for working with both technical and finance/business teams

- Experience with Agile/Waterfall project methodologies
