Position Overview

We are seeking a Tosca Cloud Automation Specialist to drive automated testing for greenfield SAP customers. You will design, build, and execute automated test cases in Tricentis Tosca Cloud, establishing a stable, scalable, and maintainable cloud-based automation framework using a consultative approach.

This role goes beyond model-based test authoring and you will also write and maintain code-based automation where the tooling calls for it. You will operate a transport-driven change impact process using Tricentis SeaLights for ABAP, so that every ABAP object change entering the landscape automatically drives the right subset of automated tests, with measurable coverage behind it. You will work alongside other automation specialists, the test architect, and business stakeholders to validate SAP end-to-end before go-live and when there is downtime between projects, you will learn the latest and greatest next best thing in the automation world.

This is a cloud-first role which includes authoring, execution, and orchestration all run in Tosca Cloud, leveraging its zero-footprint architecture and the Tricentis Elastic Execution Grid rather than traditional on-premises infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Test Automation with Tosca Cloud

- Develop, execute, and maintain automated test cases in Tricentis Tosca Cloud for SAP GUI, SAP Fiori, and API testing.
- Build reusable, model-based test assets using Tosca Cloud's Business Flow Designer and Global Inventory to keep the library maintainable as business processes evolve.
- Configure and manage test execution across Personal, Team, and Cloud Agents on the Tricentis Elastic Execution Grid, including parallel and distributed runs across multiple SAP environments.
- Automate test cases while managing test data dependencies and SAP system limitations, using Tosca Cloud's automated test data provisioning where applicable.
- Implement keyboard wedge simulation, SAP GUI scripting, API-based testing, and OCR-based validation to address barcode scanning automation.
- Apply Tosca Cloud's AI-assisted test creation, maintenance, and self-healing capabilities to reduce maintenance overhead as the SAP build stabilizes.

Technical & Code-Based Automation

- Design, write, and maintain code-based automation with Selenium WebDriver (Java, Python, or C#)



for web applications and integration points that fall outside the Tosca model-based approach.
- Extend automation coverage through custom scripting, reusable libraries, and API/service-layer testing (REST, SOAP, RFC, IDocs).
- Use Claude and other AI coding assistants to accelerate the authoring, refactoring, debugging, and documentation of test scripts and framework code — applying sound engineering judgment to review and validate AI-generated output rather than accepting it as-is.
- Integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent) and manage test assets in Git-based version control.

Quality Intelligence & ABAP Change Management

- Operate Tricentis SeaLights to establish measurable quality signals across the SAP landscape, including code coverage, Test Gap Analytics, and Quality Gates.
- Deploy and maintain the SeaLights ABAP Agent, and use SeaLights for ABAP change impact analysis to map ABAP code and non-code objects moving through transports to the tests that cover them.
- Run a transport-driven test selection process: for each incoming change, use SeaLights Test Impact Analytics to identify and execute the minimal relevant Tosca Cloud test subset, cutting regression cycle time without sacrificing risk coverage.
- Surface untested changes and coverage gaps to the test architect and business stakeholders, and enforce Quality Gates that block insufficiently tested changes from promoting forward.
- Support change-driven testing across lifecycle events including support packs, custom releases, and S/4HANA upgrades.

Delivery & Collaboration

- Work in an agile sprint structure, delivering a repeatable asset library on time and under budget.
- Collaborate with business SMEs, ABAP developers, Basis, and SAP consultants to align automation with evolving business processes and transport schedules.
- Identify and mitigate common testing challenges, including test data availability, environment stability, and access issues.
- Assist in troubleshooting complex automation challenges with the support of a test architect.
- Maintain detailed documentation for test assets, frameworks, coverage reporting, and execution results.

Required Qualifications

- 3+ years of hands-on Tricentis Tosca automation experience, preferably in SAP environments. Experience with Tosca Cloud is strongly preferred; equivalent Tosca Commander (on-premises) experience will be considered, with a demonstrated willingness to transition to the cloud platform.




- Hands-on experience automating SAP GUI and SAP Fiori with the Tosca SAP engine.
- Working proficiency in Selenium WebDriver and at least one programming language (Java, Python, or C#) where you should be comfortable reading, writing, and debugging automation code, not only building model-based tests.
- Practical experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude to speed up test development, with the judgment to validate and correct generated code.
- Experience with test impact analysis, code coverage, or quality gate tooling. Direct Tricentis SeaLights experience is strongly preferred; candidates with comparable coverage/test-selection tooling and a willingness to ramp on SeaLights will be considered.
- Understanding of SAP change and transport management and how ABAP objects move through the landscape and how testing is scoped around those changes.
- Strong understanding of SAP test automation challenges, including handling dynamic T-codes, user roles, and data dependencies.
- Experience with test data management strategies for SAP testing.
- Exposure to API-based automation (REST, RFC, IDocs) within SAP.
- Experience working in agile sprints with multiple stakeholders.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently while collaborating within a distributed team.

Preferred Qualifications

- Hands-on SeaLights for ABAP: ABAP Agent deployment, transport-to-test mapping, Change Impact Analysis, Test Gap Analytics, and Coverage Trend reporting.
- Experience migrating from Tricentis LiveCompare to SeaLights for ABAP-based change impact analysis.
- Direct experience with Tosca Cloud features: Business Flow Designer, Test Run Orchestration, API Playground, and Elastic Execution Grid agent configuration.
- Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager, SAP Cloud ALM, or ChaRM-based change control workflows.
- Experience testing across S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, or Ariba in end-to-end business flows (Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay).
- Basic ABAP literacy, meaning, enough to read objects, understand transport contents, and speak credibly with developers.
- Experience with barcode scanning automation and OCR-based validation.
- Strong troubleshooting and change management control skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- SAP experience is required; other ERP exposure (Workday, Oracle Cloud, etc.) is a plus.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
