Job Description
What Youll Be Doing (position summary):
The Intermediate Performance Testing Engineer leads performance testing activities within CIBCs Enterprise Technology (ET) Quality Engineering (QE) team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining performance test cases and automated performance test scripts, coordinating end-to-end test support, and ensuring all testing processes meet quality standards and project timelines. The incumbent works closely with project managers, developers, quality engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions and continuous improvement in testing methodologies.

How Youll Succeed (responsibilities):
Testing Expertise:
- Lead the investigation and translation of business and technical requirements into performance test cases.
- Design and manage end-to-end performance testing activities for multiple projects.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive performance test plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Develop and maintain automated test cases and test suites using performance testing tools.
- Execute performance test cases, document results, and manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Prepare and present status reports, test metrics, and risk assessments to project leadership.
- Ensure all testing activities comply with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Defect & Compliance Management:
- Manage defects throughout their lifecycle, ensuringtimelyresolution and documentation.
- Identify, manage, and implement remediation for any noncompliance items and deviations.
- Ensure adherence to QA/QE standards and support the implementation of new standards.
- Recognize andidentifyareas for process, policy, or tool improvement.
Performance Testing Expertise:
- Create and execute performance test strategies, tools, and frameworks.
- Build performance testing scripts and integrate them with DevOps tools.
Leadership Skills:
- Coach and mentor testing team members in business domain, performance testing, automation, and non-functional testing.
- Ensure test teams are compliant with CIBCs test methodologies and industry best practices.
- Identify opportunities to enhance testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Proactively identify and address issues throughout all test phases.
Project Coordination:
- Coordinate efforts of internal and external testing teams to ensure timely completion of test phases.
- Identify and communicate obstacles or risks impacting project timelines or success.
- Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and escalate issues as necessary.
- Ensure performance test deliverables are received, approved, and aligned to project goals and budget.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all performance testing-related communications among project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technology partners to ensure quality standards are met.
- Work closely with project managers, developers, quality engineers, and external vendors to coordinate performance testing activities and resolve issues.

JOB DIMENSIONS:
- Scope includes coordination of performance, batch and operability testing activities for ET QA projects.
- Responsible for managing performance testing efforts across multiple projects and teams.
- Responsible for supporting quality assurance across various geographies and business lines as assigned.
- Direct influence over the quality of deliverables impacting ET QA projects
- Advisory responsibilities for process improvement and technology adoption within the team.
Experience: 5+ years of experience
Who You Are (skills/qualifications):
- 5+ years QA/QE experience, minimum 2+ years of experience in a Performance Test Coordination role, with proficient knowledge of Testing Life Cycle, SDLC, and Defect Management.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience working with performance testing tools.
- Web UI, API/web services, batch performance test experience. Preferably for financial, banking, planning and budgeting applications.
Must Have Skills:
- Strong Banking Applications knowledge and experiences.
- Performance Testing Tools NeoLoad/NeoLoad Web/JMeter.
- Artefacts repositories - GitHub.
- Experience in working with AI LLMs GTP/Cloude/GitHub Pilot/Databricks Genie
- AI LLMs Integrations with test tools via MCPs.
- Defect and Test management tools (Any tool -OpenText AQM, JIRA, Confluence).
- Experience in preparing performance test plans and test cases & responsible for execution.
- Ability to support multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to coach and mentor team members, and influence outcomes through expertise.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry developments.
Good to Have:
- Experience in Finance or equivalent ERP systems (e.g. PeopleSoft, SAP) is a big asset.
- Other performance testing tools - LoadRunner
- CI/CD tools Jenkins/GitHub Actions
- Automation Testing (Any tools - Tosca DI/Python/Selenium/Robot Framework/Parasoft SOAtest/Postman/RestAssured/ Cucumber/Kainos Smart).
- Working knowledge of cloud/Azure workplace (e.g., Databricks).
- Power BI or data visualization tools knowledge.
- Familiar with AI trends and opportunities related to QE.
