Purpose/Objective

To lead the automation strategy and execution for Blade Manufacturing operations by driving Industry 4.
0 initiatives, robotics, PLC/SCADA-based automation, machine integration, process digitization, predictive maintenance, and smart manufacturing solutions to enhance productivity, quality, safety, and operational efficiency across the Blade Plant.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Automation Strategy & Deployment - Develop and execute the automation roadmap for Blade Manufacturing operations.
- Identify opportunities for process automation across blade layup, resin infusion, curing, trimming, sanding, finishing, material handling, and inspection processes.
- Drive implementation of Industry 4.
0 and Smart Factory initiatives.
Control Systems & Digital Manufacturing - Lead design, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of PLC, HMI, SCADA, IIoT, and MES systems.
- Ensure seamless integration between manufacturing equipment and enterprise systems.
- Drive machine connectivity, production data acquisition, and real-time performance monitoring.
Robotics & Advanced Manufacturing - Lead implementation of robotic applications for blade finishing, grinding, sanding, drilling, painting, and material movement.
- Evaluate emerging automation technologies for composite manufacturing environments.
- Drive adoption of AGVs, automated inspection systems, and vision-based quality controls.
Process Optimization - Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and process reliability through automation solutions.




- Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Support cycle time reduction and productivity enhancement projects.
Project Management - Manage automation CAPEX projects from concept to commissioning.
- Coordinate with OEMs, EPC contractors, system integrators, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are delivered within budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
Reliability & Maintenance Support - Collaborate with Maintenance teams for predictive and condition-based monitoring systems.
- Improve equipment uptime through digital diagnostics and automated monitoring solutions.
- Standardize automation systems and control architecture across the blade plant.
Safety & Compliance - Ensure automation systems comply with machine safety standards and EHS requirements.
- Lead safety interlock validation and machine risk assessment activities.
- Support Zero Harm initiatives through fail-secure automation designs.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualification - B.
E.
/B.
Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Automation, Robotics, Mechanical or related discipline.
- Certification in PLC, SCADA, Industrial Automation, Robotics, or Industry 4.
0 preferred.
Experience - 8-12 years of experience in manufacturing automation.
- Minimum 5 years in automation within Wind Blade Manufacturing, Composites, Automotive, Aerospace, Heavy Engineering, or Process Industries.
