Education: BE (Mechanical / Welding / metallurgy / Production / Industrial engineering)
Requirements
- Certified AWS CWI or CSWIP 3.1
- ASNT Level II/III in NDT techniques.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain welding procedures and specifications in accordance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Oversee and optimize welding processes, including SAW, FCAW, GTAW, GMAW, and other specialized techniques e.g. Panel Line welding stations (TTS Make).
- Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to ensure weld integrity and compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with Design and Engineering teams to provide input on weldability of materials and design considerations.
- To coordinate with TPI / Class / Owners representative for workmen qualification and certification for specific project requirements.
- Train and mentor welding personnel on best practices, new techniques, and safety protocols.
- Evaluate and implement current welding technologies and equipment to improve efficiency and quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve welding-related issues during construction and repair projects. Conduct root cause analysis of welding defects and implement corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve the welding machines / equipment related issues. Maintain the welding machines which are kept as spare for future requirements.
- Maintain thorough documentation of welding procedures, qualifications, and inspections.
