Job Description: Diploma Engineer Trainee (DET) Mechanical

Job Purpose

Assists in day-to-day store operations, inventory management, packaging, and dispatch functions. This role utilises technical and computer skills to ensure accurate material storage, secure packaging, timely dispatch, and productive floor-level manpower management.

Key Responsibilities

- Store Operations & Layout: Manage the receipt, storage, and issuance of raw materials, mechanical spares, and finished goods. Ensure proper floor layout, material tagging, and adherence to 5S safety and cleanliness standards.
- Inventory & Cycle Counting: Conduct regular inventory cycle counts and physical verification of stocks. Investigate and reconcile variations between physical inventory and system records.
- Packaging Quality Control: Oversee the packaging of mechanical components and heavy equipment. Ensure proper anti-rust treatments, structural crating, and weatherproofing are applied to prevent damage during transit.
- Dispatch & Documentation: Plan and supervise daily dispatch schedules.



Coordinate loading operations and prepare accurate dispatch documentation (Delivery Challans, Invoice, Packing Lists, and E-Way bills).
- SAP ERP & Excel Logging: Use basic SAP commands to perform material transactions (e.g., Goods Receipt/MIGO, material transfers, stock checks). Maintain daily stock ledgers, dispatch logs, and cycle count data in MS Excel.
- Manpower Handling: Supervise and direct contract labourers, loaders, and packers on the floor. Assign daily targets, monitor productivity, and enforce workplace safety protocols.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Recent graduate).
- Technical & Operational Skills: Understanding of mechanical parts, hardware, and raw materials; basic awareness of material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes).
- Systems & Software:
- Excel Knowledge: Proficiency in MS Excel for maintaining tracking sheets, using basic formulas, and filtering data.

- SAP Basic: Fundamental understanding of ERP operations, material master screens, or transaction entries is highly preferred.
- Core Competencies: Ability to direct on-floor contract workers; physically active and comfortable working in a warehouse environment; strong attention to detail to prevent dispatch and inventory errors
