Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to manage and control all quality-related activities for PEB (Pre-Engineered Building) manufacturing, fabrication, painting, dispatch, and erection projects. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement the Quality Assurance Quality Control (QA/QC) system for PEB projects.
- Review approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs and quality requirements.
- Monitor quality of raw materials such as steel plates, coils, sections, bolts, welding consumables and paint.
- Ensure proper inspection of cutting, drilling, welding, fit-up, assembly and fabrication activities.
- Monitor welding quality and ensure compliance with approved WPS/PQR and applicable standards.
- Coordinate and supervise NDT activities such as UT, DPT, MPI, etc., wherever required.
- Inspect surface preparation, blasting and painting activities, including DFT measurement.
- Ensure dimensional inspection of fabricated PEB components before dispatch.
- Prepare and maintain Inspection Reports, NCRs, Quality Records, ITPs and checklists.
- Identify non-conformities and ensure timely Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Coordinate with production, engineering, project and erection teams to resolve quality issues.
- Conduct internal quality audits and supplier/vendor quality inspections.
- Handle customer inspections, third-party inspections and quality-related queries.
- Ensure traceability of materials, welding and inspection records.




- Monitor quality during site erection and resolve site-related quality issues.
- Train and guide QC engineers, inspectors and production personnel.
- Ensure compliance with relevant IS/ASTM/AWS/ISO standards and project specifications.
- Prepare regular quality performance reports for management.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Civil or related Engineering.
- 8-15 years of relevant experience in PEB / structural steel fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication, painting and dimensional inspection.
- Knowledge of WPS, PQR, ITP, NCR, CAPA and QAP.
- Valuable understanding of engineering drawings and fabrication tolerances.
- Knowledge of applicable IS/ASTM/AWS standards.
- Good leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Certifications

- NDT Level II - UT / DPT / MPI.
- Welding Inspector certification such as CSWIP/AWS, where applicable.
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor / Lead Auditor certification.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

- Reduction in internal and customer NCRs.
- First-pass quality / rejection rate.
- On-time closure of NCRs and CAPAs.
- Customer inspection acceptance rate.
- Reduction in rework and fabrication defects.
- Compliance with project quality plans and inspection schedules.
- Timely completion of quality documentation.
