Role & responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end plant maintenance operations for manufacturing machinery, equipment and utilities, ensuring maximum equipment uptime and production continuity.
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance programs to improve plant reliability and reduce downtime.
- Manage maintenance of CNC machines, fabrication machinery, welding equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, DG sets, compressors, electrical systems and other plant utilities.
- Lead troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and automation-related equipment failures.
- Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA), corrective and preventive actions for recurring equipment breakdowns.
- Monitor and improve maintenance KPIs including MTBF, MTTR, equipment availability, downtime and maintenance cost.
- Manage maintenance planning, critical spares, spare-parts inventory, asset lifecycle and annual maintenance budgets.
- Lead and develop a team of maintenance engineers, technicians, electricians and contract maintenance personnel.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Safety and Manufacturing teams to plan maintenance activities without impacting production schedules.
- Implement and strengthen CMMS-based maintenance systems, maintenance documentation and asset registers.
- Drive TPM, Kaizen, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant reliability and operational efficiency.
- Support PLC, SCADA, VFD, sensors and industrial automation troubleshooting and improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures, statutory requirements, ISO systems and environmental standards.
- Identify and implement energy-saving and maintenance-cost reduction initiatives across plant machinery and utilities.
- Evaluate equipment condition, maintenance trends and failure history to develop long-term reliability improvement plans.
Preferred candidate profile
- BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering from a reputed institution.
- 14+ years of relevant experience in plant maintenance / engineering maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end maintenance operations for a manufacturing plant.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with CNC machines, fabrication machinery, welding equipment, hydraulic presses, compressors, DG sets and industrial utilities will be highly preferred.
- Robust troubleshooting experience in industrial machinery, electrical systems, automation and power systems.
- Exposure to PLC, SCADA, VFD, sensors and industrial automation will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, RCA, MTBF and MTTR.
- Experience using CMMS / SAP PM or other computerized maintenance management systems.
- Proven experience leading maintenance engineers, technicians and electricians.
- Strong understanding of TPM, Kaizen, 5S, maintenance planning, spare-parts management and continuous improvement.
- Experience in genset, diesel engine, acoustic enclosure, heavy engineering, automotive, industrial equipment, fabrication or similar manufacturing industries will be preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Candidates should be willing to work from Bengaluru and take ownership of plant maintenance performance.
