Role & responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive materials allocation strategy across heavy engineering projects, balancing inventory levels with project needs to minimize excess and shortages.
- Work closely with the procurement team to establish optimal inventory levels, reordering points, and lead times, ensuring material availability without overstocking.
- Define and communicate material specifications, delivery timelines, and quality requirements to procurement teams, facilitating timely and accurate material sourcing.
- Coordinate with project teams to identify critical material needs, manage lead times, and address potential material shortages or delays proactively.
- Maintain detailed records of material allocation, usage, and inventory levels, generating regular reports on material status and identifying potential risks to project timelines.
