- Select appropriate components such as sensors, actuators, relays, contactors, drives (VFDs, servos), and PLCs based on machine requirements.
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensure availability of components in coordination with the procurement team.
- Ensure compliance with electrical and safety standards (IEC, CE, UL, ISO, etc.)
2. Control System Development
- Integration of PLC / HMI / SCADA programs for machine automation.
- Work with controllers from Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, Schneider, etc.
- Configure and integrate communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, etc.).
- Design safety circuits (emergency stops, interlocks, safety relays, light curtains, etc.).
3. Machine Assembly, Testing & Commissioning
- Supervise wiring, panel assembly, and electrical installation of machines on the shop floor.
- Hands on experience in panel wiring, machine/field wiring, panel assembly, and electrical installation of machines on the shop floor.
- Conduct testing and debugging of control systems, ensuring correct operation of sensors, actuators, and drives.
- Support factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).
- Provide on-site commissioning and troubleshooting support at customer locations (domestic/international).
4. Project Coordination
- Collaborate with mechanical and software design teams to ensure proper integration of electrical systems.
- Work closely with the project management team to ensure timely delivery within budget.
- Maintain technical documentation, change logs, and reports throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Maintenance & Support
- Provide technical support to service and maintenance teams for installed machines.
- Analyze electrical issues and propose design improvements for reliability and efficiency.
- Update documentation for design changes and modifications.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Research and evaluate new technologies to enhance machine performance and safety.
- Contribute to standardization of electrical designs and control systems for future SPM projects.
Key Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of (Hands on experience) industrial automation and electrical design principles.
- Experience with PLC/HMI programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, and Omron etc.). will be added advantage
- Hands on experience in electrical schematics, panel wiring, sensors, and actuators.
- Familiarity with motion control systems (servo motors, stepper systems).
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, control issues efficiently and to work under pressure.
- Valuable understanding of safety systems and industrial standards.
- Provide extended support based on project schedules and customer requirements, including overtime, weekend work, or travel as needed to ensure timely project completion, installation, and customer satisfaction.
