Note: This role requires working various shifts (early morning, late evening, night shifts) as we are part of a global shared services team and support all regions.

The Order to Cash (OTC) process at Yahoo is very critical considering the importance of managing working capital and complex regulations across the globe along with maintaining healthy customer relationships. We partner with a variety of teams such as Sales, Sales Operations, Legal, Tax, Accounting, Audit, Treasury and Corporate Applications teams to make sure the Order to Cash operations are running efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall success of Yahoo. Customer interactions and relationships play a key role in achieving the objectives of this function, as well as adherence to internal controls, processes and policies, and adherence to applicable regulatory compliance.

The Billing Analyst is part of the OTC team, which is responsible for all the activities related to delivering services to, and collecting payment from, our customers. Five primary teams make up the OTC department - Credit Assessment, Order Quality, Billing, Collections and Cash Application. The faster and more efficient our ordering process is, the happier and more loyal our customers will be to Yahoo and the company's future revenue growth. The ultimate task of the Billing team is to ensure that accurate and payable invoices and credit memos are generated timely and delivered to Yahoo Customers while ensuring appropriate accounting treatment and revenue integrity.

Your Day

- Build strong relationships with partnering teams to achieve overall Order to Cash process efficiency
- Work with Sales/Account Management/Ad Operations on strategic initiatives that will improve billing and client-facing reconciliation initiatives
- Perform detailed reconciliation and review across third party ad campaigns for all Yahoo products
- Utilize technical expertise in Yahoo ad serving technology and third party serving systems to ensure invoice accuracy
- Train Sales and Account Management personnel on process workflow considerations
- Collaborate with clients and Sales on adjustment requests, review details and make determinations on processing levels in accordance with Yahoo policy
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend and develop processes which prevent recurring issues
- Interpret and implement new billing processes and standards as current products are onboarded, which can often require partnering with OMS Administrators and/or Corporate Applications
- Support the adoption of new company initiatives by participating in user acceptance testing for updated systems, processes, and products
- Identify process improvements and partner with OTC leadership on solutions




- Create/update process documentation as Yahoo processes and products evolve
- Partner with Revenue Accounting to resolve deferred revenue reconciliation issues
- Collaborate with Collections, Sales and clients to resolve invoice disputes
- Perform internal and SOX compliance testing, including population reporting, sample support pulls and walkthroughs of audit documentation with internal and external auditors
- Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions, as needed

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Preferred experience 6+ years
- Experience serving a leadership/mentor role to peers and staff team members
- Proven experience identifying and implementing process improvements
- Experience reviewing client contracts, terms conditions and contractual financial details
- Proven experience working with key controls, internal/external auditors, populations, support and SOX testing
- Understanding of billing and revenue processes including third party ad servers and associated reconciliation requirements
- Knowledge of large order and invoicing system (ie. Oracle, Salesforce, etc.) preferred
- Previous relevant experience with full ownership of end to end process required
- Outstanding MS Excel skills, including pivots and vlookups
- Meticulous attention to details
- Proficient with Google Suite products
- Previous experience with Ad Servers is a distinct advantage

Good to have skills

- Understanding how to analyze AI large datasets to recognize patterns in claims.
- Using AI to extract data from documents and check for consistency.
- Demonstrated ability to incorporate AI-powered tools and models into daily workflows to improve efficiency, output quality, and overall effectiveness.
